قَالَhe saidالمُصنِّفُthe authorأَبُو حَنِيفَةَAbu Hanifaرَضِيَmay (he) be pleasedاللَّهُGodعَنْهُabout him
The author Abu Hanifa, may God be pleased about him, said:
نُقَرُّWe affirmأَيُّthat isمَعْشَرٌgroupأَهْلُof the peopleالسُّنَّةِthe Sunnahوَandالْجَمَاعَةِthe congregationبِأَنَّthatاللَّهَGodتَعَالَىthe Exaltedخَلَقَcreatedالْخَلْقَthe creationوَلَمْand He did notيَكُنْbeلَهُمْto themطَاقَةٌcapabilityلِأَنَّهُمْbecause theyضُعَفاءُare weakعَاجِزُونَunable
We affirm that God, the Exalted, created the creation and they did not have the capability because they are weak and unable.
أَقُولُI sayقَالَsaidالشَّارِحُthe commentatorالْخَلْقُthe creationوَالْإِيجَادُand the existenceبِمَعْنَىin meaningواحِدٌoneوَالْخَلْقُand the creationبِمَعْنَىin the meaning ofالْمَخْلُوقِthe createdكَالضَّرْبِlike hittingبِمَعْنَىin meaningالْمَضْرُوبِthe struckصَانِعٌthe makerالْعَالَمُthe worldأَوْجَدَbrought into existenceالْمَخْلُوقَاتِthe creaturesكُلَّهَاall of themوَandهُمْtheyضُعَفاءُare weakلَاnotقُدْرَةٌpowerلَهُمْto themعَلَىonتَأْثِيرٍinfluenceأَحْوَالِهِمْtheir statesعَاجِزُونَunableعَمَّabout whatيَتِمُّcompletesبِهِwith itقَوَامَthe sustenanceبَدَنِهِمْof their bodyوَإِلَيْهِand to Himالْإِشَارَةُthe indicationبِقَوْلِهِby His sayingتَعَالَىthe ExaltedاللَّهُGodالَّذِيwhoخَلَقَكُمْcreated youمِنْfromضَعْفٍweakness
I say: The commentator said: Creation and existence are one in meaning, and creation in the meaning of the created, like hitting in the meaning of the struck. The Maker of the world brought all creatures into existence, and they are weak; they have no power to influence their states, unable about what completes their sustenance of their body, and to Him refers with His saying, the Exalted: "God who created you from weakness."

قَالَsaidوَاللَّهُand Godخَالِقُهُمْis their Creatorوَرَازِقُهُمْand their Sustainerلِقَوْلِهِdue to His sayingتَعَالَىthe Exaltedوَاللَّهُand Godخَلَقَكُمْcreated youثُمَّthenرَزَقَكُمْprovided you with sustenanceثُمَّthenيُمِيتُكُمْwill cause you to dieثُمَّthenيُحْيِيكُمْwill bring you to life again
He said: And God is their Creator and Sustainer, due to His saying, the Exalted: "And God created you, then provided you with sustenance, then will cause you to die, then will bring you to life again."
أَقُولُI sayفَإِنَّهُfor indeed Heسُبْحَانَهُglory be to Himوَتَعَالَىthe Exaltedخَالِقٌthe Creatorالْخَلْقُthe creationوَرَازِقُهُمْand Sustainer of themثُمَّand thenالرِّزْقُthe sustenanceعِندَنَاfor usعِبَارَةٌis an expressionعَنْofالْغِذَاءِthe nourishmentكَمَاasجَاءَcameفِيinقَوْلِهِHis sayingتَعَالَىthe Exaltedوَمَاand there is notمِنْofدَابَّةٍliving creatureفِيinالْأَرْضِthe earthإِلَّاexceptعَلَىonاللَّهِGodرَزَقَهَاprovides for itحَلَالًاlawfullyكَانَwasذَٰلِكَthatأَوْorحَرَامًاunlawfullyوَكُلُّand everythingمَاthat whichيَسْتَوْفِيfulfilsمُدَّةًthe periodحَيَاتِهِof its lifeمَاwhatقَدِرَwas ordainedلَهُfor itكَذَاso saidقَالَهُsaid itالْعَلَامَةُthe scholarالشَّارِحُthe commentatorوَغَيْرُهُand othersأَيْضًاalso
I say: For indeed He, glory be to Him, the Exalted, is the Creator of the creation and Sustainer of them, and then the sustenance for us is an expression of the nourishment, as came in His saying, the Exalted: "And there is not a living creature in the earth except that on God is its provision, whether that be lawful or unlawful, and everything that fulfills the period of its life was ordained for it. So said the scholar, the commentator and others as well.

The author Abu Hanifa, may God be pleased about him, said:
وَالْكَسْبُand the earningحَلَالٌis lawful
And the earning is lawful.
