فَإِنَّSo ifقَالُواthey saidفَقَدْthenقَالَsaidاللَّهُGodإِنَّاIndeed weأَنزَلْنَاhave sent downالْحَدِيدَthe ironفِيهِin itبَأْسٌa powerشَدِيدٌstrong
So if they say, indeed God said: 'Indeed, We have sent down iron in it, a power strong.'
وَالْحَدِيدُAnd the ironمَخْلُوقٌis created* قِيلَ* It was saidلَهُمْto themالْحَدِيدُThe ironجِسْمٌa bodyمَوَاتًاinanimate، وَلَيْسَ, and it is notيَجِبُmustإِذَاIfكَانَit isالْقُرْآنُthe Qur'anمُنَزَّلًاrevealedأَنْto beيَكُونَisجَسَمًاa bodyمَوَاتًاinanimate، وَلِذَٰلِكَ, and thereforeلَاit is not necessaryيَجِبُit mustإِذَاIfكَانَit isالْقُرْآنُthe Qur'anمُنَزَّلًاrevealedأَنْto beمَخْلُوقًاcreatedوَإِنْAnd ifالْحَدِيدُthe ironمَخْلُوقًاis created
And the iron is created. It was said to them: 'The iron is an inanimate body, and it must not be necessary if the Qur'an is revealed to be an inanimate body. Therefore, it is not necessary for the Qur'an to be created and the iron to be created.'
(جَوَابٌ)(Response)وَيُقَالُAnd it is saidلَهُمْto themقَدْindeedأُمِرْنَاwe were commandedاللَّهُGodعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Exalted and Majesticأَنْthatنَسْتَعِيذُwe seek refugeبِهِin Himوَهُوَand He isغَيْرُnotمَخْلُوقٍcreated، وَأُمِرَ, and He commandedأَنْtoنَسْتَعِيذَwe seek refugeبِكَلِمَاتِwith the wordsاللَّهِof Godالتَّامَّاتِcompleteوَإِذَاand ifلَمْnotنُؤْمَرْwe are commandedأَنْtoنَسْتَعِيذَwe seek refugeبِمَخْلُوقٍwith a createdمِنَfromالمَخْلُوقَاتِthe creationوَأُمِرْنَاand we were commandedأَنْtoنَسْتَعِيذَwe seek refugeبِكَلَامِwith the speechاللَّهِof Godفَقَدْthen it isوَجَبَbecome necessaryأَنْthatكَلَامَthe speechاللَّهِGodغَيْرُnotمَخْلُوقٍcreated
(Response) And it is said to them: 'Indeed, God, the Exalted and Majestic, has commanded us to seek refuge in Him, and He is not created, and He commanded that we seek refuge with the complete words of God. And if we were not commanded to seek refuge with a created being from the creations and we were commanded to seek refuge with the speech of God, then it is necessary that the words of God are not created.'
بَابٌChapterذِكْرٌaboutالِاسْتِوَاءِthe elevationعَلَىuponالْعَرْشِthe ThroneإِنIfقَالَone saysقَائِلٌthe speakerمَاwhatتَقُولُونَdo you sayفِيaboutالِاسْتِوَاءِthe elevation* قِيلَ* It was saidلَهُto himنَقُولُwe say: إِنَّ: Indeed,اللَّهَGodعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Exalted and Majesticمَسْتَوٍis establishedعَلَىuponعَرْشِهِHis ThroneكَمَاasقَالَHe saidالرَّحْمَانُthe Most Mercifulعَلَىonالْعَرْشِthe ThroneاسْتَوَىHe established HimselfوَقَدْAnd indeedقَالَHe saidاللَّهُGodعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Exalted and Majesticإِلَيْهِto Himيَصْعَدُascendالْكَلِمُthe wordsالطَّيِّبَةُpureوَقَالَAnd He said: بَلْ: ButرَفَعَهُHe lifted himاللَّهُGodإِلَيْهِto Him
(Chapter Mentioning the Elevation upon the Throne) If a speaker says: 'What do you say about the elevation?' We say: 'Indeed, God, the Exalted and Majestic, is established upon His Throne as He said: 'The Most Merciful established on the Throne.' And indeed, God, the Exalted and Majestic, said: 'To Him ascend the pure words.' And He said: 'But God lifted him to Him.'
وَقَالَAnd He saidعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Exalted and Majestic: يَاOهَامَانَHamanابْنَson ofلِيto meصَرْحًاa towerلَعَلِّيso that I mayأَبْلُغُreachالْأَسْبَابَthe meansأَسْبَابَthe causesالسَّمَاوَاتِof the heavensفَأَطَّلِعَand I may lookإِلَىtoإِلَٰهِthe Godمُوسَىٰof MosesوَإِنِّيAnd indeed IلَأَظُنُّهُI thinkكَاذِبًاa liar
And He, the Exalted and Majestic, said: 'O Haman, build for me a tower, so that I may reach the means of the heavens, and look to the God of Moses, and indeed I think that he is a liar.'
كَذَبَHe liedمُوسَىٰMosesعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلَامُpeaceفِيinقَوْلِهِhis sayingإِنَّIndeedاللَّهَGodعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Exalted and Majesticفَوْقَaboveالسَّمَاوَاتِthe heavensوَقَالَAnd He saidعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Exalted and MajesticأَأَمِنتُمْDo you feel secureمِنْfromفِيinالسَّمَاءِthe skyأَنْthatيَخْسِفَcause an earthquakeبِكُمْwith youالْأَرْضَthe earth
Moses, peace be upon him, lied in his saying: 'Indeed, God, the Exalted and Majestic, is above the heavens.' And He, the Exalted and Majestic, said: 'Do you feel secure from the one in the heaven that He might cause an earthquake with you on the earth?'
فَالْسَّمَاوَاتُSo the heavensفَوْقَهَاabove itالْعَرْشِthe ThroneفَلَمَّاSo whenكَانَit wasالْعَرْشُthe Throneفَوْقَaboveالسَّمَاوَاتِthe heavens
So the heavens are above the Throne, and when the Throne was above the heavens.
