وَالصِّرَاطُand the pathحَقٌّis trueوَ الْبَعْثُand the resurrectionبَعْدَafterالْمَوْتِdeathحَقٌّis trueوَ أَنَّand that
And the path is true, and the resurrection after death is true, and that Allah, the Exalted,
عَزِيرٌthe Exaltedوَجَلَّand Majesticيُوقِفُwill stopالْعِبَادَthe servantsفِيinالْمَوْقِفِthe standing placeوَيُحَاسِبُand He will hold accountableالْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersوَ أَنَّand that
will stop the servants in the standing place and hold accountable the believers, and that
الإيمَانُfaithقَوْلٌis a sayingوَعَمَلٌand an actionيَزِيدُincreasesوَيَنْقُصُand decreasesوَنَسْلَمُand we acceptالرَّوَايَاتُthe narrationsالصَّحِيحَةُthe correct onesعَنْfromرَسُولِthe Messengerاللَّهِof AllahاللَّهُAllahالَّتِيwhichرَوَاهَاwere narratedالثِّقَاتُby trustworthy narratorsعَدْلٌjusticeعَنْfromعَدْلٍjusticeحَتَّىuntilيَنْتَهِيit reachesإِلَىtoرَسُولِthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allah
faith is a saying and an action that increases and decreases, and we accept the correct narrations from the Messenger of Allah which were narrated by trustworthy narrators, just and fair, until it reaches the Messenger of Allah.
وَنَدِينَand we ensureبِحُبِّby lovingالسَّلَفِthe predecessorsالَّذِينَthose whoاخْتَارَهُمْchosen themاللَّهُAllahعَزِيزٌthe Exaltedوَجَلَّand Majesticلِصُحْبَةِfor the companionshipنَبِيِّهِof His Prophetعَلَيْهِpeace be upon himوَنُثْنِيand we commendعَلَيْهِمْupon themبِمَاby whatأَثْنَىHe praisedاللَّهُAllahبِهwithعَلَيْهِمْupon themوَنَتَوَلَّاهُمْand we befriend themأَجْمَعِينَall together
and we ensure by loving the predecessors who Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, chosen for the companionship of His Prophet, peace be upon him, and we commend them by what Allah praised them and befriend them all together.
وَنَقُولُand we sayإِنَّthat indeedالإِمَامَthe imamالْفَاضِلَthe virtuousبَعْدَafterرَسُولِthe Messengerاللَّهِof AllahاللَّهُAllahأَبُوAbuبَكْرٍBakrالصِّدِّيقِthe truthful oneرِضْوَانُthe good pleasureاللَّهِof Allahعَلَيْهِupon himوَأَنَّand that
and we say that indeed the virtuous imam after the Messenger of Allah is Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, the good pleasure of Allah upon him, and that
اللَّهُAllahأَعَزَّhas honoredبِهِwith himالدِّينَthe religionوَأَظْهَرَهُand made it manifestعَلَىoverلِلصَّلَاةِthe prayerوَسَمَّوْهُand they called himالْمُرْتَدِّينَthe apostatesوَقَدَّمَهُand he ledالْمُسْلِمُونَthe Muslimsبِالْإِمَامَةِin leadershipكَمَاasقَدَّمَهُhe introducedرَسُولَthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allahبِأَجْمَعِهِمall togetherخَلِيفَةًas a caliphرَسُولِthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allahﷺ: may Allah’s peace be upon him
and Allah has honored him with the religion and made it manifest over the prayer, and they called him the apostate and he was led by the Muslims in leadership as he was introduced by the Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s peace be upon him.
ثُمَّThenعُمَرَUmarابْنَthe son ofالْخَطَّابِAl-Khattabرَضِيَpleasedاللَّهُof Allahعَنْهُof himثُمَّThenعُثْمَانَUthmanابْنَthe son ofعَفَّانَAl-Affanرَضِيَpleasedاللَّهُof Allahعَنْهُof himوَأَنَّand that
Then Umar ibn Al-Khattab, pleased of Allah upon him, then Uthman ibn Al-Affan, pleased of Allah upon him, and that
الَّذِينَthoseقَاتَلُوهُwho fought against himقَاتَلُوهُfought himظُلْمٍin oppressionوَعُدْوَانٍand aggressionثُمَّThenعَلِيٌّAliابْنَthe son ofأَبِيAbuطَالِبٍTalibرَضِيَpleasedاللَّهُof Allahعَنْهُof him
those who fought against him in oppression and aggression, then Ali ibn Abu Talib, pleased of Allah upon him,
فَهَؤُلَاءِso theseالْأَئِمَّةُthe imamsبَعْدَafterرَسُولِthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allahوَخِلَافَتُهُمْand their caliphateخِلَافَةٌthe caliphateالنبوةof Prophethoodوَنَشْهَدُand we bear witnessبِالْجَنَّةِto paradiseلِلْعَشَرَةِfor the tenالَّذِينَwhoشَهِدُواtestifiedلَهُمْfor themرَسُولَthe Messengerاللَّهِof AllahاللَّهُAllahبِهَاwith it
so these are the imams after the Messenger of Allah and their caliphate is the caliphate of Prophethood, and we bear witness to paradise for the ten who testified for them the Messenger of Allah, Allah with it.
وَنَتَوَلَّىAnd we befriendسَائِرَall otherأَصْحَابِthe companionsالنَّبِيِّthe Prophetوَنَكُفُّand we refrainعَمَّfrom whatشَجَرَhas happenedبَيْنَهُمْamong themوَنَدِينُand we judgeاللَّهَAllahبِأَنَّthat indeedالأَئِمَّةُthe Imamsالأَرْبَعَةُthe fourخُلَفَاءُcaliphsرَاشِدُونَthe rightly guidedمَهْدِيُّونَthe guided onesفَضْلًاfavorلَاnotيُوَازُونَهُمْequal to themفِيinالْفَضْلِvirtueغَيْرَهُمْother than themوَنُصَدِّقُand we believeبِجَمِيعِin allالرُّسُلِthe Messenger
and we befriend all other companions of the Prophet, and we refrain from what has happened among them, and we judge that indeed the Imams, the four, are the rightly guided caliphs who are favored with a favor not equal to them in virtue other than them, and we believe in all.
