Their ancestors interpreted the Quran according to their opinions, an interpretation that Allah did not send down any authority for, nor clarified any proof for, and they did not convey it from the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds, nor from the early predecessors. They contradicted the narrations of the Companions (peace be upon them) about the Prophet of Allah (may peace be upon him) regarding the narration of Allah the Mighty and Majestic concerning the visions, and there have come various narrations in this matter, continuously transmitted, and the news followed them. They denied the intercession of the Messenger of Allah, not even for the sinners, and rejected the narrations regarding this from the early ones. They denied the punishment of the grave, that the disbelievers are punished in their graves, and the Companions and the Followers unanimously agreed on that. They spoke about the creation of the Quran, similar to the saying of their brethren among the polytheists who said, 'This is only the saying of humans,' and they established that the servants create evil, similar to the saying of the Magians who affirmed the existence of creators, one creates good and the other creates evil. They claimed that Allah the Mighty and Majestic wills that whatever happens will happen, and what does not happen will also happen, contrary to what the Muslims have unanimously agreed upon; that whatever Allah wills occurs and whatever He does not will does not occur. The saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, 'And you will not will unless Allah wills,' informs us that we do not will anything except that Allah has willed that we will it. And for His saying, 'And if Allah had willed, He would have given every soul what it desires.'
