حَبَّةٌa grainفِيinظَمَأٍthe drynessالأَرْضِof the earthوَلَاand notرَطْبٌwetوَلَاand notيَابِسٌdryإِلَّاexceptفِيinكِتَابٍa bookمُبِينٍclear
Not a grain in the dryness of the earth, neither wet nor dry, except in a clear book.
وَيَعْلَمُAnd He knowsمَاwhatيَعْمَلُthe doers doالْعَامِلُونَthe workersوَمَاand whatيَنْقَلِبُturnsإِلَيْهِto itالْمُنقَلِبُونَthe ones who turn
And He knows what the doers do and what the ones who turn to Him turn to.
وَنَسْتَهْدِيَهُAnd we seek guidance from Himبِالْهُدَىwith guidanceوَنَسْأَلُهُand we ask Himالتَّوْفِيقَsuccessلِمَجَانِبَةِto avoidالرَّدَىdestructionوَنَشْهَدُand we bear witnessأَنْthatمُحَمَّدًاMuhammadعَبْدَهُHis servantوَرَسُولَهُand His messengerوَنَبِيَّهُand His prophetوَأَمِينَهُand His trustworthy oneوَصَفِيَّهُand His chosen oneأَرْسَلَهُHe sent himإِلَىto
And we seek guidance and ask Him for success to avoid destruction, and we bear witness that Muhammad is His servant, His messenger, His prophet, and His trustworthy one whom He sent to His creation.
بِالنُّورِwith the radiant lightالسَّاطِعِshiningوandالسِّرَاجِthe lanternالْلَّامِعِshiningوَالْحُجَجِand the proofsالظَّاهِرَةِapparentوَالْبَرَاهِينِand the argumentsوَالْآيَاتِand the signsالْبَاهِرَةِillustriousوَالأَعَاجِيبِand the wondersالْقَاهِرَةِoverwhelming
He came to us with the shining light, the radiant lantern, the apparent proofs, the illustrious arguments, and the overwhelming wonders.
فَبَلَّغَSo he conveyedالرِّسَالَةَthe messageرَبِّهِof his Lordوَنَصَحَand he advisedلِأُمَّتِهِhis nationوَجَاهَدَand he strivedفِيinاللَّهِAllahحَقَّthe rightجِهَادَهُhis struggleحَتَّىuntilتَمَّتْwas completedكَلِمَةُthe wordاللَّهِof Allahعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Mighty and Exaltedوَظَهَرَand appearedأَمْرُهُHis commandوَانْقَادَand surrenderedالنَّاسُthe peopleلِلْحَقِّto the truthخَاضِعِينَhumblyحَتَّىuntilأَتَاهُcame to himالْيَقِينُthe certaintyلَاnotوَارِيَةًdwindlingوَلَاand notمُقَصِّرًاlacking
So he conveyed the message of his Lord, advised his nation, and strived in Allah's cause as it should be, until the word of Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, was completed and His command appeared, and the people surrendered to the truth, humbly, until certainty came to them, neither diminishing nor lacking.
فَصَلَوَاتُSo blessingاللَّهِof Allahعَلَيْهِupon himمِنْfromقَائِدٍthe leaderإِلَىtoهُدًىguidanceمُّبِينٍclearوَعَلَىand uponأَهْلِthe familyبَيْتِهِof his houseالطَّيِّبِينَthe pureوَعَلَىand uponأَصْحَابِهhis companionsالْمُنْتَخَبِينَthe chosen onesوَعَلَىand uponأَزْوَاجِهِhis wivesأُمَّهَاتِthe mothersالْمُؤْمِنِينَof the believers
So may Allah bless him, the leader to clear guidance, and upon his pure family, his chosen companions, and upon his wives, the mothers of the believers.
عَرَّفَنَاHe made us knowاللَّهَAllahبِهِthrough himالشَّرَائِعَthe lawsوَالأَحْكَامَand the rulingsوَالْحَلَالَand the lawfulوَالْحَرَامَand the unlawfulوَبَيَّنَand He clarifiedلَنَاto usشَرِيعَةًthe legislationالإِسْلامِof Islamحَتَّىuntilانْجَلَتْit was unveiledعَنَّاfrom usالظُّلُمَاتِthe darknessوَالظُّلْمِof oppressionوَانْحَسَرَتْand shiftedعَنَّاfrom usبِهَاby itالشُّبُهَاتِthe doubtsوَانْكُشِفَتْand were revealedعَنَّاfrom usبِهَاthrough itالْغِيَابَاتِthe obscuritiesوَظَهَرَتْand appearedلَنَاfor usبِهَاthrough itالْبَيِّنَاتِthe clear proofs
He made us know the laws, and the rulings, the lawful and the unlawful, and He clarified to us the legislation of Islam until the darkness of oppression unveiled from us, and doubts decreased from us through it, and the obscurities were revealed from us through it, and the clear proofs appeared for us through it.
جَاءَنَاHe came to usبِكِتَابٍwith a bookعَزِيزٍnobleلَاnotيَأْتِيهِcomes to itالْبَاطِلُfalsehoodمِنْfromبَيْنَamongيَدَيْهِits handsوَلَاand notمِنْfromخَلْفِهِbehind itتَنزِيلٌa revelationمِنْfromحَكِيمٍWiseحَمِيدٍPraiseworthyجُمِعَتْgatheredفِيهِin itعِلْمُthe knowledgeالأَوَّلِينَof the formerوَالْآخِرِينَand the latterوَأَكْمَلَand completedبِهِthrough itالْفَرَائِضَthe obligationsوَالْدِّينَand the religionفَهُوَIt isصِرَاطُthe pathاللَّهِof Allahالْمُسْتَقِيمُstraightوَحَبْلُهُand His ropeالْمَتينُstrongفَمَنSo whoeverتَمَسَّكَholds fast
He came to us with a noble book, in which falsehood does not come from its hands nor behind it, a revelation from the Wise, Praiseworthy, which gathered in it the knowledge of the former and the latter, and completed through it the obligations and the religion, so it is the straight path of Allah and His strong rope, so whoever holds fast to it.
