فَإنَّهُFor indeed,يَنبَغِيit is necessaryلَهُfor himأَيٌّthat isيَجِبُhe mustعَلَيْهِupon himأَنْtoيَعْتَقِدَbelieveفِيinالْحَالِthe situation.
For indeed, it is necessary for him that he must believe in the situation.
مَاwhatهُوَit isالصَّوَابُthe truthعِندَwithاللَّهِAllahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedبِأَنَّthatيَقُولُhe saysمَثَالًاfor exampleإنْifمَاwhatأَرَادَhe wantedاللَّهُAllahمِنْهُfrom himحَقٌّtruthوَاقِعٌis realأَوْorيَقُولُhe says
What is the truth with Allah the Exalted, that he should say for example, if what Allah wanted from him is real truth or he says,
اعْتَقَدْتُI believedمَاwhatهُوَit isالصَّوَابُthe truthعِندَwithاللَّهِAllahتَعَالَىthe Exalted
I believed in what is the truth with Allah the Exalted.
وَهَذَاAnd thisالْقَدْرُamountيَكْفِيis sufficientإِلَىuntilأَنْthatيَجِدَhe findsعَالِمًاa scholarيُعَلِّمُwho teachesمَسَائِلَissuesالتَّوْحِيدِof monotheism
And this amount is sufficient until he finds a scholar who teaches the issues of monotheism.
فَيَسْأَلُهُSo he asks himمَاwhatأَشْكَلَwas difficultعَلَيْهِto him
So he asks him what is difficult for him.
وَلَاAnd notيَسْعَهُhe is excusedأَيٌّThat is,لَاnotيَجُوزُit is permissibleلَهُfor himتَأْخِيرُto delayالطَّلَبِthe requestأَيٌّthat isتَأْخِيرُto delayطَلَبِthe requestمَاwhatأَشْكَلَwas difficultعَلَيْهِto himمِنْfromدَقَائِقَthe detailsعِلْمِknowledgeالتَّوْحِيدِof monotheismوَتَأْخِيرُAnd delayطَلَبِof the requestالْعِلْمِof knowledgeالَّذِيthatهُوَit isفَرْضٌan obligationعَلَيْهِon himوَهُوَand it isعِلْمٌknowledgeالإِيمَانِof faithوَعِلْمٌAnd knowledgeمَاwhatيَزُولُremovesبِهِwith himالإِيمَانَfaithوَيَحْصُلُand causes to obtainبِهِwith himالكُفْرَdisbeliefوَعِلْمٌAnd knowledgeمَاwhatيَكُونُis ofبِهِthrough itمِنْofمُعْتَقَدٍthe beliefأَهْلِof the peopleالسُّنَّةِof the Sunnahوَالْجَمَاعَةِand the community
And he should delay the request of knowledge which is obligatory upon him, and that is knowledge of faith and knowledge of what removes faith and leads to disbelief, and knowledge of what is of the belief of the people of the Sunnah and the community.
قَالَAllah said:اللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exalted:فاعْلَمْSo knowأَنَّهُthat there isلَاnoإِلَٰهَgodإِلَّاexceptاللَّهَAllah
Allah said: So know that there is no god except Allah.
وَقَالَAnd Allah said:اللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exalted:«فَاسْأَلُواAsk the peopleأَهْلَof the peopleالذِّكْرِof the reminderإنْIfكُنتُمْyou areلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَknow.
And Allah said: "Ask the people of the reminder if you do not know."
وَقَالَAnd the Messenger of Allah ﷺ:طَلَبُThe seekingالعِلْمِof knowledgeفَرِيضَةٌis an obligationعَلَىuponكُلِّeveryمُسْلِمٍMuslimوَمُسْلِمَةٍand Muslimah.
And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The seeking of knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim and Muslimah."
وَقَالَAnd he saidعَلَيْهِupon himالصَّلَاةُthe prayerوَالسَّلاَمُand peace:اطْلُبُواSeekالعِلْمَknowledgeوَلَوْevenبِالصِّينِin China.
And he said upon him the prayer and peace: "Seek knowledge even in China."
(وَلَاAnd not (يُعَذَّرُhe is excusedبِالْوَقْفِfor stoppingفِيهِ)in it)أَيٌّthat isلَاnotيَكُونُbeمَعْذُورًاexcusedبِالتَّوَقُّفِby stoppingفِيْمَاin whatأَشْكَلَis difficultعَلَيْهِfor him.
And not (he is excused) for stopping in what is difficult for him.
وَيَكْفُرُAnd he disbelievesإنْifوَقَفَhe stopsفِيْمَاin whatأَشْكَلَis difficultعَلَيْهِto himإِذَاifكَانَit wasمِنْofضَرُورِيَّاتِthe necessitiesالدِّينِof the religion,لَأَنَّbecauseالتَّوَقُّفُthe stoppingفِيinالمُؤْمِنِthe believerبِهِin itكُفْرٌis disbelief;
And he disbelieves if he stops in what is difficult for him if it is of the necessities of religion, because stopping in the believer in it is disbelief;
السَّمَاءِThe heavensوَسَائِرِand otherعَلَامَاتِsignsيَوْمِthe Dayالْقِيَامَةِof Resurrectionعَلَىonمَاwhatوَرَدَتthey were reportedبِهِwith itالأَخْبَارِthe news.
The heavens and other signs of the Day of Resurrection are according to what has been reported in the news.
