لَمْnotتَكُنْwasلَهُمْfor themالحَسَنَاتُthe good deedsفَطُرِحَso they castالسَّيِّئَاتُthe bad deedsعَلَيْهِمْupon themحَقٌّis a rightجَائِزٌallowed)
They did not have good deeds, so the bad deeds were cast upon them as a rightful allowance.
قَالَsaidرَسُولُthe Messengerاللَّهُof God:«"مَنWhoeverكَانَتْhasعِندَهُwith himمَظْلِمَةٌa grievanceلِأَخِيهِto his brotherمِنْfromعِرْضَةٍthe honorأَوْorشَيْءٍsomethingفَلْيَسْتَحِلَّهُlet him seek forgiveness from himمِنْهُfrom himالْيَوْمَtodayقَبْلَbeforeأَنْthatلَاneitherيَكُونَthere will beدِينَارٌa dinarوَلَاnorدِرْهَمٌa dirhamإِنْifكَانَhe hasلَهُfor himعَمَلٌworkصَالِحٌrighteousأَخَذَhe tookمِنْهُfrom himبِقَدْرِaccording toمَظْلِمَتِهِhis grievanceفَإِنْand ifلَمْnotتَكُنْisلَهُfor himحَسَنَاتٌgood deedsأَخَذَhe tookمِنْfromسَيِّئَاتِthe bad deedsصَاحِبِهِof his companionفَحُمِلَ عَلَيْهِand was laden with them
The Messenger of God said: "Whoever has a grievance against his brother regarding his honor or anything, let him seek forgiveness from him today before there comes a day when there will not be a dinar or dirham. If he has good deeds, he will take from them according to his grievance. If he has none, he will take from the bad deeds of his companion and be laden with them."
وَقَالَAnd he saidرَسُولُthe Messengerاللَّهُof God:«"أَتَدْرُونَDo you knowمَنْwhoالْمُفْلِسُthe bankrupt؟?قَالُواThey said:الْمُفْلِسُThe bankruptمَنْis fromلَاneitherدِرْهَمٌdirhamلَهُfor himوَلَاnorمَتَاعٌpropertyلَهُfor him.
And the Messenger of God said: "Do you know who the bankrupt is?" They said: "The bankrupt is he who has neither dirham nor property."
فَقَالَThen he saidعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلَامُpeace:إِنَّIndeedالْمُفْلِسُthe bankruptمَنْis fromأُمَّتِيmy nationمَنْwhoيَأْتِيcomesالْقِيَامَةِthe Day of Judgmentبِصَلَاةٍwith prayerوَصِيَامٍand fastingوَزَكَاةٍand zakatيَأْتِيcomesقَدْalreadyشَتَمَcursedهَذَاthis oneوَقَذَفَand slanderedهَذَاthis oneوَأَكَلَand ateمَالَthe moneyهَذَاthis oneوَسَفَكَand shedدَمَbloodهَذَاthis oneوَضَرَبَand beatهَذَاthis one.
Then he said, peace be upon him: "Indeed, the bankrupt among my nation is he who comes on the Day of Judgment with prayer, fasting, and zakat, but he has cursed this one, slandered that one, eaten the wealth of that one, shed the blood of that one, and beaten that one."
فَيُعْطَىThen he will be givenهَذَاthis oneمِنْofحَسَنَاتِهِhis good deedsوَهَذَاand this oneمِنْofحَسَنَاتِهِhis good deedsفَإِنْIfفُنِيَتْare exhaustedحَسَنَاتُهُhis good deedsقَبْلَbeforeأَنْthatيُقْضَىis settledمَاwhatعَلَيْهِon himأَخَذَhe will takeمِنْfromخَطَايَاهُمْtheir sinsفَطُرِحَتْand they will be castعَلَيْهِupon himثُمَّthenيُطْرَحُwill be thrownفِيintoالنَّارِthe fire
Then he will be given from this one, and this one from his good deeds. If his good deeds are exhausted before what is due on him is settled, he will take from their sins, and they will be cast upon him, and then he will be thrown into the fire.
وَالجَّنَّةُAnd Paradiseوَهِيَand it isدَارُthe abodeالثَّوَابِof rewardالدَّائِمُeverlasting)
And Paradise, which is the abode of everlasting reward.
(وَالنَّارُ(And the Fireوَهِيَand it isدَارُthe abodeالْعَذَابِof punishmentالدَّائِمُeverlasting)
(And Hell, which is the abode of everlasting punishment.
مَخْلُوقَتَانِBoth are createdالْيَوْمَtoday)
Both are created today.)
قَالَGod saidاللَّهُGodتَعَالَىthe Most High:«"وَسَارِعُواAnd hastenإِلَىtoمَغْفِرَةٍforgivenessمِنْfromرَبِّكُمْyour Lordوَجَنَّةٍand a Paradiseعَرْضُهَاwhose widthالسَّمَاوَاتِthe heavensوَالأَرْضِand the earthأُعِدَّتْpreparedلِلْمُتَّقِينَfor the righteous"*
God, the Most High, said: "And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise whose width is like the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous."
وَقَالَAnd saidاللَّهُGodتَعَالَىthe Most High:يَوْمَA dayفِيهَاwhen thereinجَلَالُthe Majesticاللَّهِof Godتَعَالَىthe Most Highوَعَظَمَتِهِand His greatnessوَصِفَاتِهِand His attributesفَاجْتَمَعَتْare gatheredفِيهَاin itفَضِيلَتَانِtwo virtuesفَضِيلَةُThe virtueالذِّكْرِof remembranceوَفَضِيلَةٌand the virtueالْمَذْكُورِof the mentionedوَلِبَعْضِهَاand for some of itفَضِيلَةٌthe virtue
And God, the Most High, said: "A day when the Majesty of God, the Most High, and His greatness and attributes are gathered in it, and two virtues are gathered; the virtue of remembrance and the virtue of the mentioned; and for some of it, the virtue."
