تَعَالَىٰExaltedمِنَfromطَاعَتِهِHis obedienceوَكَثْرَةِand the abundance ofإِخْلَاصِهِHis sincerityكَانَwasالرَّبُّthe LordتَعَالَىٰExaltedقَرِيبًاnearمِنْهُto himبِرَحْمَتِهِwith His mercyوَفَضْلِهِand His graceوَإِحْسَانِهِand His kindness
Exalted is He, from His obedience and the abundance of His sincerity, the Lord was near to him with His mercy, grace, and kindness.
(وَأَمَّا(And as forالَّتِيthat whichتَكُونُisلِأَعْدَائِهِfor His enemiesأيthat isلِأَعْدَاءِfor the enemies ofاللَّهِGodالأُمُورُthe mattersالخَارِقَةُextraordinaryلِلْعَادَةِby nature(مِثْلَ(likeإِبْلِيسَIblisوَفِرْعَوْنَand Pharaohوَالْمَسِيحِand the Messiahمَاwhatرُوِيَhas been narratedفِيinالأَخْبَارِthe reportsأَنَّهُthat itكَانَwasوَيَكُونُand will beلَهُمْfor themلاnotنُسَمِّيَهَاwe call itآيَاتٍsignsفَإِنَّهَاfor indeed, theyلِلْأَنْبِيَاءِfor the prophetsعَلَيْهِمُ السَّلامُpeace be upon them(وَلَا(and notكَرَامَاتٍmiraculous honorsفَإِنَّهَاfor indeed, theyلِلْأَوْلِيَاءِfor the saintsإِكْرَاماًas an honorلَهُمْto themوَإِحْسَاناًand as a kindnessإِلَيْهِمto them))(وَلَكِن(butنُسَمِّيَهَاwe name itقَضَاءَthe fulfillmentحَاجَاتِهِمof their needsوَلَمَّاand whenكَانَwasمِنَofالْمُسْتَبْعَدِthe improbableعِندَuponالْعُقُولِthe mindsالْقَاصِرَةِthe limitedقَضَاءُfulfillmentحَاجَاتِof needsأَعْدَائِهِhis enemiesدَفَعَthe Imamالْأَعْظَمُthe greatestذَلِكَthatوَبَيَّنَand clarifiedالْحِكْمَةَthe wisdomفِيهِin itبِقَوْلِهِby His saying(وَذَٰلِكَ(and thatلَأَنَّis becauseاللَّهَGodتَعَالَىٰExaltedيَقْضِيfulfillsحَاجَاتَthe needsأَعْدَائِهِof His enemiesاسْتِدْرَاجًاas a testلَهُمْto themوَعِقَابًاand as a punishmentلَهُمْfor themفَيَغْتَرُّونَand they are deludedبِهِby itأيthat isقَضَاءًfulfillmentبِسَبَبِbecause ofحَاجَاتِهِمtheir needsوَيَزْدَادُونَand they increaseطُغْيَانًاin sinوَكُفْرًاand disbeliefفَيَسْتَحِقُّونَthey deserveبِذَلِكَby thatعَذَابًاa punishmentمُهِينًاhumiliatingقَالَHe saidاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىٰExaltedوَلَاand do notيَحْسَبَنَّlet them not thinkالَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواdisbelievedأَنَّمَاthat verilyنُمْلِيwe give them respiteلَهُمْfor themخَيْرًاgoodلِأَنفُسِهِمfor themselvesإِنَّمَاVerilyنُمْلِيwe give them respiteلَهُمْfor themلِيَزْدَادُواto increaseإِثْمًاin sinوَلَهُمْand for themعَذَابٌa punishmentمُهِينٌhumiliating**(وَذَلِكَ(and thatكُلَّهُall of itجائزٌis permissibleمُمْكِنٌand possibleلَاit is not impossibleيُسْتَحِيلُin reasonفِيinالْعَقْلِthe mindوَقُعُوعُهُand its occurrenceقَالَsaidاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىٰExaltedسَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُمْWe will drag them downمِنْfromحَيْثُwhereلَاnotيَعْلَمُونَthey know::وَقَالَAnd saidالْعَبْدُthe servantتَفَضُّلًاout of favorمِنْهُfrom Himوَقَدْand mayيُعَاقَبُhe is punishedعَلَىforالذَّنبِthe sinعَدْلًاjustlyمِنْهُfor himوَقَدْand mayيَعْفُوHe forgivesتَفَضُّلًاout of graceمِنْهُfrom Himوَشَفَاعَةُand the intercessionالْأَنْبِيَاءِof the prophetsعَلَيْهِمُ السَّلامُpeace be upon themحَقٌّis trueوَشَفَاعَةُand the intercessionالنَّبِيِّof the prophet١٤٥145
(And that all of it is permissible and possible, it is not impossible in reason.) Allah, the Exalted, said: "We will drag them down from where they do not know;" And the servant, out of favor from Him, may be punished justly for the sin, or He may forgive him out of grace from Him. The intercession of the prophets, peace be upon them, is true and the intercession of the prophet.
