المُؤْمِنِينthe believersوَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِand the believing womenجَنَّاتٍgardens
The believers and the believing women are in gardens.
وَقَالَAnd saidاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exalted::ذَٰلِكَThatفَضْلُgraceاللَّهِof Allahيُؤْتِيهُgives it to whomمَنْwhoيَشَاءُHe wills
And said Allah the Exalted: 'That is the grace of Allah He gives it to whom He wills.'
وَقَالَAnd saidاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exalted::وَAndاللَّهُAllahلَاdoes notيَخْلُفُbreaksالْمِيعَادَthe promise
And said Allah the Exalted: 'And Allah does not break the promise.'
(وَمَا(And whatكَانَwasمِنَofالسَّيِّئَاتِthe evilsدُونَother thanالشِّرْكِthe shirkوَالْكُفْرِ)and the disbelief)سَوَاءٌwhetherكَانَتْwereتِلْكَthoseالسَّيِّئَاتُevilsصَغِيرَةًsmallأَوْorكَبِيرَةًbig(وَلَم(And did notيَتُبْrepentعَنْهَا)for them)أَيThat isعَنْfromتِلْكَthoseالسَّيِّئَاتِevilsالَّتِيwhichلَيْسَتْare notبِشِرْكٍwith shirkوَلَاnorكُفْرٍdisbelief
(And what was of the evils other than shirk and disbelief) whether those evils were small or big (And did not repent for them) that is, from those evils which are neither shirk nor disbelief.
صَاحِبَهَاIts ownerحَتَّىuntilمَاتَhe diedمُؤْمِنًاa believer))فَاسِقًاa sinnerمُصِرًّاpersistentعَلَيْهَاon it(فَإِنَّهُ(Then heأَيthat isذَٰلِكَthatالْفَاسِقُsinner(فِي(inمَشِيئَةِwillاللَّهِof Allahتَعَالَىthe ExaltedإِنIfشَاءَHe wills
The owner of them until he died a believer (then he is that sinner) (in the will of Allah the Exalted, if He wills.
عَذَّبَهُpunished himبِالنَّارِ)with fire)عَدْلًاfairlyثُمَّThenأَخْرَجَهُHe brings him outمِنْهَاfrom itفَضْلًاas a favor(وَإِن(And ifشَاءَHe willsعَفَاforgaveعَنْهُfrom himوَلَمAnd did notيُعَذِّبْهُpunish himبِالنَّارِwith fireأَصْلًاat allبِفَضْلِهِBy His graceوَرَحْمَتِهِand His mercy
He may punish him with fire fairly, then He brings him out from it as a favor, (And if He wills, He forgives him and does not punish him with fire at all) by His grace and mercy.
أَوْOrبِشَفَاعَةِby the intercessionالْشابِعِينَof the intercessors,,وَفِيAnd inبَعْضِsomeالنُّسَخِof the copiesوَإِنAnd ifشَاءَHe willsعَفَاforgaveعَنْهُfrom himوَلَمAnd did notيُعَذِّبْهُpunish himبِالنَّارِwith fireأَبَدًاforever
Or by the intercession of the intercessors, and in some copies (And if He wills, He forgives him and does not punish him with fire forever).
فَيَكُونُSo it will beالمَعْنَىthe meaningإِنIfمَنْwhoيُعَذِّبْهُpunished by HimاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedمِنَofالْمُؤْمِنِينَbelieversلَاdoes notيُعَذِّبْهُpunishedأَبَدًاeverمُخَلَّدًاeverlastinglyفِيinالنَّارِthe fireلَأَنَّbecauseالإِيمَانُthe faithيَمْنَعُpreventsالْخُلْدَeternityوَالْرِّيَاءِAnd hypocrisyإِذَاifوَقَعَoccursفِيinعَمَلٍworkمِنَofالأَعْمَالِthe deedsفَإِنَّهُ)Then it (أَيThat isالرِّيَاءِthe hypocrisyيَبْطُلُcancelsأَجْرَهُits reward
So it will be the meaning that if who Allah punishes of the believers does not punish him ever lasting in the fire, because the faith prevents eternity, and hypocrisy if it occurs in the work of the deeds, then it (that is the hypocrisy) cancels its reward.
قَالَHe saidاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedيَا أَيُّهَاO you whoالَّذِينَthose whoآمَنُواhave believedلَاdo notتَبْطِلُواnullifyصَدَقاتِكُمْyour charityبِالْمَنِّwith reminderوَالأَذَىand harmكَالَّذِيlike the oneيُنفِقُspendsمَالَهُhis moneyرِئَاءًto be seenالنَّاسِthe people.
Allah, the Exalted, said: 'O you who have believed, do not nullify your charity with reminder and harm, like the one who spends his money to be seen by the people.'
وَقَالَAnd saidرَسُولُthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allahعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلاَمُpeace::لَاnotيَقْبَلُacceptsاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedعَمَلَthe deedأَحَدَكُمْof any one of youحَتَّىuntilيُؤَدِّيhe fulfillsمَاwhatأَمَرَهُhe has been commandedبِهِwith it
And said the Messenger of Allah upon him peace: 'Allah does not accept the deed of any one of you until he fulfills what he has been commanded with it.'
وَيَسْتَوِيand it is equalالمُؤْمِنُونَthe believersكُلُّهُمْall of themفِيInالمَعْرِفَةِknowledgeوَالْيَقِينِand certaintyوَالْتَّوَكُّلِand relianceوَالْمَحَبَّةِand loveوَالْرِّضَىand satisfactionوَالْخَوْفِand fearوَالْرَّجَاءِand hopeوَالْإِيمَانِand faithفِيinذَٰلِكَthat
And the believers are all equal in that knowledge, certainty, reliance, love, satisfaction, fear, hope, and faith.
