To push him away from the Israeli, so the blow occurred intentionally, and killing was a mistake.

And killing is a slip also, because every mistake is a slip, and not every slip is a mistake.
فَبَيْنَهَاSo there is between themعُمُومٌa generalityوَخُصُوصٌand specificityمُطْلَقًاabsolutelyلِأَنَّbecauseالزَّلَّةَthe slipقَدْmayتَكُونَbeبِالْخَطَإِby mistakeوَقَدْand it mayتَكُونَbeبِالنِّسْيَانِby forgettingوَقَدْand it mayتَكُونَbeبِالسَّهْوِby negligenceوَقَدْand it mayتَكُونَbeبِتَّرْكِby leavingالأُولَىthe firstوَالْأَفْضَلِand the better
So there is between them a generality and specificity absolutely, because the slip may be by mistake, and it may be by forgetting, and it may be by negligence, and it may be by leaving the first and the better.

Imam Omar al-Nasafi said in the interpretation: The Imams of Samarkand do not use the name of slip on the actions of the prophets, peace and blessings upon them, because it is a type of sin, and they say they did the virtuous and left the best, and they were admonished for it because leaving the best among them is like leaving the obligation from others.

It was said: A slip of the prophets and the saints is a cause of closeness to God, the Most High. Abu Sulaiman al-Darani said: What Dawood did was a more beneficial act for him than sin; he kept fleeing from it to his Lord until he reached Him, so the sin is a cause of fleeing to God, the Most High, from his self and his world.
