وَandالْمَعَاصِيَthe sinsوَمِنَand fromالِاعْتِقَادِthe beliefالْفَاسِدِthe corruptالْعَقِيمِthe sterile

And the sins and from the corrupt and sterile belief.

إنَّIndeedكِتَابَthe bookالْفِقْهَof jurisprudenceالأَكْبَرِthe greater))الَّذِيwhichصَنَّفَهُwas authored byالإِمَامِthe Imamالأَعْظَمِthe greatestكِتَابًbookصَحِيحٍcorrectمَقْبُولٍacceptable

Indeed, the book of the greater jurisprudence, which was authored by the greatest Imam, is a correct and acceptable book.

قَالَsaidالشَّيْخُthe Sheikhالإِمَامُthe Imamفَخْرُthe prideالإِسْلَامِof IslamعَلِيٌّAliالْبَزْدَوِيُّthe Bazzawiفِيinأُصُولِthe principlesالْفِقْهِof jurisprudence

The Sheikh Imam, the pride of Islam, Ali the Bazzawi said in the principles of jurisprudence.

الْعِلْمُthe knowledgeنَوْعَانِtwo typesعِلْمٌknowledgeالتَّوْحِيدِof monotheismوَالصِّفَاتِand attributesوَعِلْمٌand knowledgeالْفِقْهِof jurisprudenceوَالْشَّرَائِعِand lawsوَالْأَحْكَامِand rulingsوَالْأَصْلُand the foundationفِيinالنَّوْعِthe typeالأَوَّلِfirstهُوَisالتَّمَسُّكُadherenceبِالْكِتَابِto the bookوَالسُّنَّةِand the traditionوَمُجَانَبَةُand avoidanceالْهَوَىthe desiresوَالْبِدْعَةِand innovationوَلُزُومُand adherenceطَرِيقِthe pathأَهْلِof the peopleالسُّنَّةِof the traditionوَالْجَمَاعَةِand the community

Knowledge is of two types: the knowledge of monotheism and attributes, and the knowledge of jurisprudence, laws, and rulings. The foundation in the first type is adherence to the book and the tradition, and avoidance of desires and innovations, and adherence to the path of the people of tradition and community.

الَّذِيwhichكَانَwasعَلَيْهِupon himالصَّحَابَةُthe companionsوَالتَّابِعُونَand the followersوَمَضَىand passedعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلَفُthe ancestorsالصَّالِحُونَthe righteous

Which the companions and followers were upon, and which the righteous ancestors passed upon.

وَandهُوَheالَّذِيwhichعَلَيْهِupon himأَدْرَكْنَاwe gainedمَشَايِخَنَاour sheikhs

And he is the one upon whom we have gained our sheikhs.

وَكَانَand he wasعَلَىonذَٰلِكَthatسَلَفَنَاour predecessorsأَعْنِيI meanأَبَاAbuحَنِيفَةَHanifaوَأَبَاand AbuيُوحَفَYusufوَمُحَمَّدًاand Muhammadوَعَامَّةَand allأَصْحَابِهِمtheir companionsرَحِمَهُمُmay Allah have mercy on them

And he was on that of our predecessors, I mean Abu Hanifa and Abu Yusuf and Muhammad and all their companions; may Allah have mercy on them.

وَقَدْAnd he hasصَنَّفَauthoredأَبُوAbuحَنِيفَةُHanifaرَحِمَهُmay he have mercyاللَّهُAllahفِيinذَٰلِكَthatالْفِقْهَjurisprudenceالْأَكْبَرِthe greaterوَذَكَرَand mentionedفِيْهِin itإِثْبَاتَestablishmentالصِّفَاتِof attributesوَإِثْبَاتَand the establishmentتَقْدِيرَof the decreeالْخَيْرِthe goodوَالشَّرَّand evilمِنَfromاللَّهِAllahعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Exalted and Gloriousوَأَنَّand thatذَٰلِكَthatكُلَّهُallبِمَشِيئَتِهِby His willاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىٰthe Most HighإِلَىToهُنَاhereكَلَامُهُhis words

And he has authored in that the greater jurisprudence and mentioned in it the establishment of the attributes and the establishment of the decree of good and evil from Allah, the Exalted and Glorious; and that all is by His will, Allah the Most High; to here are his words.

فَأَرَدْتُSo I wantedأَنْtoأَجْمَعَgatherكَلِمَاتٍwordsمِنَfromالْكِتَابِthe bookوَالسُّنَّةِand the traditionوَمِنَand fromالْكُتُبِthe booksالْمُعْتَبَرَةِthe consideredحَتَّىuntilتَكُونَbecomeشَرْحًاan explanationلِهَذَاfor this

So I wanted to gather words from the book and the tradition and from the accepted books until they become an explanation for this.

وَالحَاسِبُand the accountوَالْمِيزَانُand the scaleوَالْجَنَّةُand the paradiseوَالنَّارُand the fireوَذَلِكَand thatكُلُّهُallحَقٌّis true

And the account, and the scale, and paradise, and fire, and that all is true.

**وَاللَّهُAnd Allahتَعَالَىthe Most Highواحِدٌis Oneلَاnotمِنْfromطَرِيقِthe wayالْعَدَدِthe number

And Allah, the Most High, is One, not from the way of number.

وَلَكِنbutمِنْfromطَرِيقِthe wayأَنَّهُthat Heلَاnotشَرِيكٌa partnerلَهُto Himلَمْdid notيُولَدْgive birthوَلَمْand did notيُولَدْgive birthوَلَمْand did notيَكُنْbeلَهُto Himكُفُوًاequal

But from the way that He has no partner to Him, He neither begets nor is born, nor is there any equal to Him.
