Thus attributing the speech to it is pure distortion.
وَقَدْAnd we haveقَرَّرْنَاdecidedفِيinمَوَاضِعَpartsمِنَofالْقَوَاعِدِthe rulesالْكُبَرِthe majorأَنَّهُthat itلَاnotيَجُوزُallowedأَنْtoيَكُونَbeغَيْرَother thanاللَّهِAllahمَحَبُوبًاbelovedمُرَادًاintendedلِذَاتِهِfor His essence.
And we have decided in parts of the major rules that it is not allowed for anyone other than Allah to be beloved and intended for His essence.
كَمَاJust asلَاnotيَجُوزُallowedأَنْtoيَكُونَbeغَيْرَother thanاللَّهِAllahمَوْجُودًاexistentبِذَاتِهِby His essence.
Just as it is not allowed for anyone other than Allah to be existent by His essence.
بَلْIndeedلَاnotرَبٌّa LordإِلَّاexceptاللَّهِAllahوَلَاand notإِلَٰهٌa deityغَيْرُهُother than Him.
Indeed, there is no Lord except Allah, and there is no deity other than Him.
وَالْإِلَٰهُAnd the deityهُوَisالْمَعْبُودُthe worshippedالَّذِيwhoيَسْتَحِقُّis deservingأَنْtoيُحَبَّbe lovedلِذَاتِهِfor His essence.
And the deity is the worshipped one who deserves to be loved for His essence.
وَيُعَظَّمَAnd to be glorifiedلِذَاتِهِfor His essenceكَمَالَthe perfectionالْمُحَبَّةِof loveوَالْتَّعْظِيمِand glorification.
And to be glorified for His essence, the perfection of love and glorification.
وَكُلُّAnd everyمَوْلُودٍnewbornيُولَدُis bornعَلَىonالْفِطْرَةِthe innate disposition.فَإِنَّهُIndeed, heسُبْحَانَهُGlory be to Him.فَطَرَcreatedالْقُلُوبَthe heartsعَلَىuponأَنَّهُthat heلَيْسَis notفِيinمَحْبُوبَاتِهَاwhat they loveوَمَرَادَاتِهَاand what they desireمَاwhatتُطْمَئِنُّgives tranquilityإِلَيْهِto itإِلَّاexceptاللَّهَAllahوَحْدَهُalone.
And every newborn is born upon the innate disposition. Indeed, He, Glory be to Him, created the hearts upon the belief that there is nothing in what they love and desire that gives tranquility except Allah alone.
وَإِنْAnd ifكُلَّeverythingمَاthatأَحَبَّهُhe lovesالْمَحْبُوبُthe belovedمِنْfromمَطْعُومٍfoodوَمَلْبُوسٍand clothingوَمَنظُورٍand sightوَمَلْمُوسٍand touchيَجِدُhe findsمِنْfromنَفْسِهِhimselfوَإِنْand ifقَلْبَهُhis heartيَطْلُبُseeksشَيْئًاsomethingسِوَاهُelseوَيُحِبُّand lovesأَمْرًاsomethingغَيْرَهُelse.
And if everything that the beloved loves, from food and clothing to sight and touch, he finds from himself that his heart seeks something else and loves something else.
يَتَأَلَّهُهَاHe worships itوَيَصْمُدُand relies upon itوَيَطْمَئِنُّand finds tranquility in it.وَيَرَىAnd he seesمَاwhatيُشَبِّهُهَاresembles itمِنْofهَذِهِtheseالْأَجْنَاسِkinds.
He worships it, relies upon it, and finds tranquility in it. And he sees what resembles it from among these kinds.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for thisقَالَAllah saidاللَّهُGodتَعَالَىthe ExaltedفِيinكِتَابِهِHis Bookالرَّعْدِthe ThunderأَلَاIndeedبِذِكْرِby the remembrance ofاللَّهِAllahتَطْمَئِنُّhearts find tranquility.الْقُلُوبُthe hearts.
And for this, Allah said in His Book, Al-Ra'd (the Thunder), 'Indeed, by the remembrance of Allah do hearts find tranquility.'

And in the authentic narration from Iyaad bin Hamar from the Prophet, peace be upon him.
عَنْfromاللَّهِAllahقَالَHe saidإِنِّيIndeed, IخَلَقْتُcreatedعِبَادِيMy servantsحُنَفَاءَto be devoted.فَاجْتَالَتْهُمُThey were led astray.الشَّيَاطِينُthe devils.وَحَرَّمَتْand made unlawfulعَلَيْهِمْupon themمَاwhatأَحَلَّتْI allowedلَهُمْfor them.وَأَمَرَتْهُمْAnd I commanded themأَنْtoيُشْرِكُواassociateبِيwith MeمَاthatلَمْnotأَنزِلْI sent downبِهِwith itسُلْطَانًاa proof.
Allah said: 'Indeed, I created My servants to be devoted, but the devils led them astray and made unlawful upon them what I allowed for them and commanded them to associate with Me what I had not sent down any proof for.'
كَمَاJust asفِيinالصَّحِيحَيْنِthe two authenticعَنْfromأَبِيAbuهُرَيْرَةَHurairaعَنْfromالنَّبِيِّthe Prophetصَلَّىpeace be uponاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَand salutations.
Just as in the two authentic by Abu Huraira from the Prophet, peace be upon him.
أَنَّهُthat heقَالَsaidكُلَّeveryمَوْلُودٍnewbornيُولَدُis bornعَلَىonالْفِطْرَةِthe innate disposition.فَأَبَوَاهُThen his parentsيُهَوِّدَانِهِcircumcise him as a Jew.وَيُنَصِّرَانِهِand convert him to Christianity.وَيُمَجِّسَانِهِand make him a pagan.كَمَاAsتَنتِجُthe animal produces.الْبَهِيمَةُthe living being.بَهِيمَةًanimal.جَمْعَاءَa group.هَلْDoتَحِسُّونَyou perceiveفِيهَاin itمِنْofجَدْعَاءَthe amputated.
He said: 'Every newborn is born upon the innate disposition; then his parents circumcise him as a Jew, convert him to Christianity, and make him a pagan, just as the living being gives birth. Do you perceive in it any signs of amputation?'
ثُمَّThenيَقُولُhe saysأَبُوAbuهُرَيْرَةَHurairaاقْرَؤُواReadإِنifشِئْتُمْyou wishالرُّومَthe Romans.فِطْرَةُthe innate disposition.اللَّهِof Allahالَّتِيthat whichفَطَرَHe createdالنَّاسَthe peopleعَلَيْهَاupon it.
Then Abu Huraira says: 'Read if you wish, the innate disposition of Allah upon which He created the people.'
لَاDo notتُبَدِّلُونَchangeلِخَلْقِfor the creationاللَّهِof Allah.ذَٰلِكَThat isالدِّينُthe religionالْقَيِّمُupright.وَأَيْضًاAnd alsoفَكُلُّeverythingمَاthatفَطَرَتْcreatedالْقُلُوبَthe heartsعَلَىuponمُحَبَّتِهِHis loveمِنْofنَعُوتِthe attributesالْكَمَالِof perfection.
Do not change for the creation of Allah. That is the upright religion. And also everything that the hearts loved of His love of the attributes of perfection.
فَاللَّهُFor Allahهُوَisالْمُسْتَحِقُّthe worthyلَهُof it.عَلَىuponالْكَمَالِthe perfection.وَكُلُّAnd allمَاthatفِيinغَيْرِهِothersمِنْofمَحْبُوبٍbelovedفَهُوَisمِنْهfrom Him.سُبْحَانَهُGlory be to Him.وَتَعَالَىand Exalted.
For Allah is the worthy of it upon the perfection. And all that is in others of beloved is from Him, Glory be to Him and Exalted.
فَهُوَSo Heالْمُسْتَحِقُّis the worthyلِأَنْto beيُحَبَّlovedعَلَىuponالْحَقِيقَةِthe truthوَالْكَمَالِand perfection.
So He is the worthy to be loved upon the truth and perfection.
وَإِنْكَارُAnd the denialمُحَبَّةِof the loveالْعَبْدِof the servantلِرَبِّهِfor his Lordهُوَisفِيinالْحَقِيقَةِtruthإِنْكَارٌdenialلِكَوْنِهِof him beingإِلَهًاa deityمَعْبُودًاworshipped.
And the denial of the love of the servant for his Lord is indeed, in truth, a denial of his being a deity worshipped.
كَمَاJust asأَنْtheإِنْكَارُdenialمُحَبَّتِهِof His loveلِعَبْدِهِfor His servantيَسْتَلْزِمُentailsإِنْكَارَdenialمَشِيئَتِهِHis will.وَهُوَAnd heيَسْتَلْزِمُentailsإِنْكَارَdenialكَوْنِهِof Him beingرَبًّاa Lordخَالِقًاthe Creator.
Just as the denial of His love for His servant entails denial of His will, and he entails denial of Him being a Creator Lord.
فَصَارَتْThus it becameإِنْكَاَرُهَاits denialمُسْتَلْزِمًاentailingلِإِنْكَارِthe denialكَوْنِهِof Him beingرَبٍّa Lordالْعَالَمِينَof the worlds.
Thus, its denial became entailing the denial of Him being the Lord of the worlds.
وَلِكَوْنِهِAnd of His beingإِلَهًاa deityالْعَالَمِينَof all worlds.وَهَذَاAnd thisهُوَisقَوْلُthe statementأَهْلِof the peopleالتَّعْطِيلِof negationوَالجُّحُودِand denial.
And of His being the deity of all worlds. And this is the statement of the people of negation and denial.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for thisاتَّفَقَتِthe two communities agreedالأَمَّتَانِthe two nationsقَبْلَنَاbefore usعَلَىonمَاwhatعِندَهُمْthey haveمِنْofمَأْثُورٍtraditional.وَحُكْمٍand rulingعَنْfromمُوسَىMosesوَعِيسَىand Jesusأَنْthatأَعْظَمَthe greatestالْوَصَايَاcommandmentsأَنْis toتُحِبَّloveاللَّهَAllahبِكُلِّwith allقَلْبِكَyour heart.وَعَقْلِكَand your mind.وَقَصْدِكَand your intention.
And for this, the two communities before us agreed on what they have of the traditional rulings from Moses and Jesus that the greatest commandments is to love Allah with all your heart, mind, and intention.
وَهَذَاAnd thisهُوَisحَقِيقَةُthe truthالْحَنِيفِيَّةِthe Hanif.مِلَّةٌthe religionإِبْرَاهِيمَof Ibrahim.الَّتِيwhichهِيَisأَصْلُthe originشَرِيعَةٍof the law.التَّوْرَاةِthe Torahوَالْإِنْجِيلِand the Gospel.وَالْقُرْآنِand the Qur'an.
And this is the truth of the Hanif religion of Ibrahim, which is the origin of the law of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Qur'an.
وَإِنْكَارُAnd the denialذَلِكَof thatهُوَisمَأْخُوذٌtakenمِنْfromمَقَالِthe statementالصَّابِئِينَof the Sabians.أَعْدَاءُenemiesإِبْرَاهِيمَof Ibrahimالْخَلِيلِthe Friend.وَمَنْand whoeverوَافَقَهُمُagrees with them.عَلَىonذَلِكَthat.مِنْfromمُتَفَلْسِفٍphilosopherأَوْorمُتَكَلِّمٍthe speaker.أَوْorمُتَفَقِّهٍthe jurist.أَخَذَهُtookعَنْfromهَؤُلَاءِthose.
And the denial of that is taken from the statement of the Sabians, enemies of Ibrahim, the Friend, and whoever agrees with them on that from any philosopher, speaker, or jurist who took it from these.
وَظَهَرَAnd it has appearedذَلِكَthatفِيinالْقَرَامِطَةِthe Qaramita.الْبَاطِنِيَّةِthe Batinis.مِنَfromالإِسْمَاعِيلِيَّةِthe Ismailis.
