يَعْدِلُHe makes fairعَلَىonنَفْسِهِhimselfبَلْbutظَلَمَهَاhe wrongs herفَصَلاَحُSo the correction الْقَلْبِof the heartفِيis in الْعَدْلِjusticeوَفَسَادُهُand its corruptionفِيis in الظُّلْمِoppressionوَإِذَاAnd ifظَلَمَhe oppressesالْعَبْدَthe servantنَفْسَهُhimselfفَهُوَthen he isالظَّالِمُthe oppressorوَهُوَand he is الْمَظْلُومُthe oppressedكَذَلِكَlikewiseإِذَاifعَدَلَhe is justفَهُوَthen he is الْعَادِلُthe justوَالْمَعْدُولُand the one wronged عَلَيْهِupon himفَمِنْهُfrom him الْعَمَلُthe actionوَعَلَيْهِand upon himتَعُودُreturnsثَمَرَةُthe fruit الْعَمَلِof the actionمِنْofخَيْرٍgoodوَشَرٍّand evilقَالَHe saidتَعَالَىthe Exalted الْبَقَرَةِAl-Baqarahلَهَاfor itمَاwhatكَسَبَتْit earnedوَعَلَيْهَاand upon itمَاwhatاكْتَسَبَتْit acquiredوَالْعَمَلُAnd the actionلَهُfor itأَثَرٌhas an effectفِيin الْقَلْبِthe heartمِنْofنَفْعٍbenefitوَضَرٍّand harmوَصَلاَحٌand correctionقَبْلَbeforeأَثَرِهِits effectفِيin الْخَارِجِthe outsideفَصَلَاحُهَاSo its correctionعَدْلٌis justiceلَهَاfor itوَفَسَادُهَاand its corruptionظُلْمٌis oppressionلَهَاfor itقَالَHe saidتَعَالَىthe ExaltedفُصِلَتْFussilatمِنْOfعَمَلٍworkingصَالِحٍgoodفَلِنَفْسِهِfor himselfوَمَنْand whoeverأَسَاءَhas done evilفَعَلَيْهَاthen upon herوَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَىthe Exalted الْإِسْرَاءِAl-IsraإِنَّIndeed أَحْسَنْتُمْyou have done goodأَحْسَنْتُمْyou have done goodلِأَنفُسِكُمْfor yourselvesوَإِنْand ifأَسَأْتُمْyou do evilفَلَهَاthen it is upon itقَالَHe saidبَعْضُsomeالسَّلَفِof the predecessorsإِنَّIndeedلِلْحَسَنَةِfor a good deedلَنُورٌthere is lightفِيin الْقَلْبِthe heartوَقُوَّةٌand strengthفِيin الْبَدَنِthe bodyوَضِيَاءٌand brightnessفِيin الْوَجْهِthe faceوَسَعَةٌand expansionفِيinالرِّزْقِprovisionوَمَحَبَّةٌand loveفِيin قُلُوبِthe hearts الْخَلْقِof creationوَإِنَّAnd ifلِلْسَّيِّئَةِfor an evil deedلَظُلْمَةٌthere is darknessفِيin الْقَلْبِthe heartوَسَوَادٌand blacknessفِيin الْوَجْهِthe faceوَوَهْنٌand weaknessفِيin الْبَدَنِthe bodyوَنَقْصٌand deficiencyفِيinالرِّزْقِprovisionوَبُغْضٌand hatredفِيin قُلُوبِthe hearts الْخَلْقِof creationوَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَىthe ExaltedالطُّورِAt-TurكُلُّEveryامْرِئٍpersonبِمَاfor whatكَسَبَhe has earnedرَهِينٌis held accountableوَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَىthe ExaltedالْمُدَّثِّرِAl-MuddathirكُلُّEveryنَفْسٍsoulبِمَاfor whatكَبَسَتْit has earnedرَهِينَةٌis held accountableوَقَالَAnd He said الْأَنْعَامِAl-An'amوَذَكَرَand mentionبِهِin itأَنْthatتُبْسَلَbe imprisonedنَفْسٌthe soulبِمَاfor whatكَسَبَتْit has earnedلَيْسَthere is notلَهَاfor herمِنْbesidesدُونَAllahاللهَGodوَلِيٌّa protectorوَلَاand notشَفِيعٌan intercessorوَإِنْAnd ifتَعِدِلُواyou make fairكُلَّallعَدْلٍjusticeلَاnoيُؤْخَذُwill be takenمِنْهَاfrom herأُولَـئِكَthoseالَّذِينَwhoأُبْسِلُواare imprisonedبِمَاfor whatكَسَبُواthey have earnedوَتُبْسَلَand be imprisonedأَيٌّthat is to sayتَرْتَهِنُbe held accountableوَتُحْبَسُand detainedوَتُؤْسَرَand imprisonedكَمَاjust asأَنَّthat الْجَسَدَthe bodyإِذَاifصَحَّis healthyمِنْfromمَرَضِهِits illnessقِيلَit is saidقَدْthat it hasاعْتَدَلَregained its balanceمِزَاجَهُits temperamentوَالْمَرَضُand the diseaseإِنَّمَاis onlyهُوَit isانحِرَافٌthe deviationالمِزَاجِof the temperamentمَعَwith أَنَّthatالِاعْتِدَالَthe balance الْمَحْضِpureالسَّالِمِsafeمِنْfromالأَخْلاَطِthe mixturesلَاthere is noسَبِيلٌwayإِلَيْهِto itوَلَكِنَّbutالأَمْثَلَthe bestفَالْأَمْثَلُthen the bestفَهَكَذَاthusصِحَّةُhealth الْقَلْبِof the heartوَصَلاَحُهُand its correctionفِيis in الْعَدْلِjusticeوَمَرَضُهُand its diseaseمِنْfromالزَّيْغِdeviationوَالظُّلْمِand oppressionوَالانْحِرَافِand deviationوَالْعَدْلِand justice الْمَحْضُis pureفِيinكُلِّeveryشَيْءٍthingمُتَعَذِّرٍis difficultعِلْمًاknowledgeوَعَمَلًاand actionوَلَكِنَّbutالأَمْثَلَthe bestفَالْأَمْثَلُthen the bestوَلِهَذَاand for this reasonيُقَالُit is saidهَذَاthisأَمْثَلُis bestوَيُقَالُand it is saidلِلطَّرِيقَةِto the wayالسَّلَفِيَّةِof the predecessorsالطَّرِيقَةُthe best wayالْمُثْلَىthe idealوَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَىthe ExaltedالنِّسَاءِAn-Nisaوَلَنْand you will notتَسْتَطِيعُواbe able toأَنtoتَعْدِلُواbe fairبَيْنَbetweenالنِّسَاءِthe womenوَلَوْeven ifحَرَصْتُمْyou were keenوَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَىthe Exalted الْأَنْعَامِAl-An'amوَأَوْفُواAnd fulfill الْكَيْلَthe measureوَالْمِيزَانِand the balanceبِالْقِسْطِwith justiceلَاnotنُكَلِّفُWe imposeنَفْسًاa soulإِلَّاexceptوَسْعَهَاits capacityوَاللهُAnd Allahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedبَعَثَsentالرُّسُلَthe messengersوَأَنْزَلَand revealed الْكُتُبَthe booksلِيَقُومَto establishالنَّاسَthe people بِالْقِسْطِwith justiceوَأَعْظَمُand the greatest الْقُسْطِjusticeعَبَادَةًis worshipاللهَto Allahوَحْدَهُaloneلَاnoشَرِيكَpartnerلَهُfor Himثُمَّthen الْعَدْلَjusticeعَلَىuponالنَّاسِthe peopleفِيinحُقُوقِهِمtheir rightsثُمَّthen الْعَدْلَjusticeعَلَىuponالنَّفْسِthe selfوَالظُّلْمَand oppressionثَلَاثَةٌthreeأَنْوَاعٌtypesوَالظُّلْمَand oppressionكُلُّهُallمِنْofأَمْرَاضِthe diseases الْقُلُوبِof the heartsوَالْعَدْلُand justiceصِحَّتُهَاis its healthوَصَلَاحُهَاand correctionقَالَHe saidأَحْمَدُAhmadبِنَbinحَنْبَلَHanbalلِبَعْضِto someالنَّاسِpeopleلَوْifصَحَّحْتَyou correctedلَمْyou would notتَخَفْfearأَحَدًاanyoneأَيٌّthat is to sayخَوْفَكَyour fear

الْعَدْلُJusticeالْحَقيقيُّthe realيَسْتَوْجِبُrequiresفِعْلٌthe actخَيْرٌgoodnessوَالشَّرُّand evilعَلَىuponفِعْلِهِمthe actsوَكُلُّand allفِعْلٍthe actsلَاnotتَكُونَto beقِيَمَةٌvaluableمِنْfromأَيِّ مَنْهَجٍany methodيَنْجُوis savedبِالْعَدْلِby justiceفِيinالنُّفُوسِthe soulsوَيُحَافِظُand preservesلِلْحَقَائِقِthe truthsوَمَعْرِفَةٍand the knowledgeفَإِنَّمَاfor indeedالْوَارِثُthe inheritorكُلَّeveryحَقيقةٍtruth

كُونُواBeمِنَamongالرُّعَاةِthe shepherdsلِلْحَقِّof the truthوَلِلْخَيْرِand the goodوَجُورُواand be just.فَإِنَّمَاfor indeedهُوَit isمَاwhatسَوْفَwillيَحْفَظَهُprotectاللَّهُGodفِيهِin itالرُّسُلَthe messengers
