إِنَّIndeedالْأَبْرَارَthe righteousلَفِيare inنَعِيمٍbliss
Indeed, the righteous are in bliss.
وَإِنَّAnd indeedالْفُجَّارَthe wickedلَفِيare inجَحِيمٍhell.
And indeed, the wicked are in hell.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for this reasonكَانَthere wereبَعْضٌsomeالْمَشَايِخِof the scholarsإِذَاwhenأَمَرُواthey commandedمَتَّبِعِيهِمtheir followersبِالتَّوْبَةِto repentوَأَحَبُّواand lovedأَنthatلَاnotيَنْفِرُواthey turn awayوَيَتْعَبُواand tireقُلُوبَهُمtheir heartsأَمَرُوهُمْthey commandedبِالصِّدْقِwith honesty.
And for this reason, there were some scholars who, when they commanded their followers to repent and loved that they not turn away and tire their hearts, commanded them with honesty.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for this reasonيَكْثُرُthey frequentlyفِيinكَلَامِthe speechمَشَايِخِof scholarsالدِّينِof the religionوَأَئِمَّتِهِمand its leadersذِكْرَmentionالصِّدْقِof honestyوَالْإِخْلَاصِand sincerity.
And for this reason, they frequently mention in the speech of the scholars of the religion and its leaders the mention of honesty and sincerity.
حَتَّىUntilيَقُولُونَthey sayقُلْSayلِمَنْto whoeverلَاdoes notيُصَدِّقُنِيbelieve meلَاdo notيَتَّبِعْنِيfollow me.
Until they say, 'Say to whoever does not believe me, do not follow me.'
وَيَقُولُونَAnd they sayالصِّدْقُthe honestyسَيْفُis the swordاللَّهِof Godفِيonالْأَرْضِthe earthمَاthere is nothingوُضِعَplacedعَلَىonشَيْءٍanythingإِلَّاexceptقُطِعَit.
And they say, 'The honesty is the sword of God on the earth; whatever is placed on something but cut it.'
وَيُقَالُAnd it is saidيُوسُفُYusufابْنُbinأَسْبَاطٍAsbatوَغَيْرُهُand othersمَاnothingصَدَقَis honestاللَّهَGodعَبْدٌa servantإِلَّاexceptصَنَعَdo forلَهُhim.
And it is said that Yusuf bin Asbat and others said, 'No servant is honest with God except He makes for him.'
وَأَمْثَالٌAnd similarهَذَاthisكَثِيرٌis muchوَالْصِّدْقُand honestyوَالْإِخْلَاصُand sincerityهُمَاareتَحْقِيقٌthe realizationالْإِيمَانِof faithوَالْإِسْلَامِand Islam.
And similar examples of this are numerous; honesty and sincerity are the realization of faith and Islam.
فَإِنَّIndeedالْمُظَاهِرِينَthe showingsالإِسْلَامَof Islamيَنْقَسِمُونَare dividedإِلَىintoمُؤْمِنِينَbelieversوَمُنَافِقِينَand hypocrites.
Indeed, those who show Islam are divided into believers and hypocrites.
فَالْفَارِقُAnd the differenceبَيْنَbetweenالْمُؤْمِنِthe believerوَالْمُنَافِقِand the hypocriteهُوَisالصِّدْقُhonestyكَمَاasفِيinقَوْلِهِHis sayingالْحُجُرَاتِthe Roomsقَالَتِthe BedouinsالأَعْرَابُsaidآمَنَّاWe have believed.
And the difference between the believer and the hypocrite is honesty, as in His saying in the Rooms, 'The Bedouins said, 'We have believed.
قُلْSayلَمْdid notتُؤْمِنُواyou believeوَلَكِنbutقُولُواsayأَسْلَمْنَاWe have submitted.إِلَىToقَوْلِهِHis wordإِنَّمَاIndeed, onlyالْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believersالَّذِينَwhoآمَنُواbelievedبِاللَّهِin Godوَرَسُولِهِand His Messenger.
Say, 'Did you not believe, but say, 'We have submitted.' Indeed, the believers are those who have believed in God and His Messenger.
ثُمَّThenلَمْdid notيَرْتَابُواdoubtوَجَاهَدُواand foughtبِأَمْوَالِهِمْwith their wealthوَأَنفُسِهِمْand themselvesفِيinسَبِيلِthe wayاللَّهِof AllahأُولَـٰئِكَThoseهُمْareالصَّادِقُونَthe truthful.
Then they did not doubt and fought with their wealth and themselves in the way of Allah. Those are the truthful.
وَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَىthe Most Highالْحَشْرُthe Gatheringلِلْفُقَرَاءِfor the poorالْمُهَاجِرِينَthe emigrantsالَّذِينَwhoأُخْرِجُواwere expelledمِنfromدِيَارِهِمtheir homesوَأَمْوَالِهِمand their wealth.
And He said the Most High, 'The Gathering is for the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and their wealth.
يَبْتَغُونَThey seekفَضْلًاbountyمِنfromاللَّهِAllahوَرِضْوَانًاand His pleasure.وَيُنصِرُونَAnd they supportاللَّهَAllahوَرَسُولَهُand His Messenger.
They seek bounty from Allah and His pleasure and they support Allah and His Messenger.
أُولَـٰئِكَThoseهُمْareالصَّادِقُونَthe truthful.
Those are the truthful.
فَأَخْبِرُونِيSo He informedأَنَّthatالصَّادِقِينَthe truthfulفِيinدَعْوَىthe claimالْإِيمَانِof faithهُمْareالْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believers.الَّذِينَWhoلَمْdid notيَتَعَقَّبُواfollowإِيمَانَهُمtheir faithبِشَيْءٍwith it.
So He informed that the truthful in the claim of faith are the believers who did not follow their faith with doubts.
وَجَاهَدُواand they stroveفِيinسَبِيلِهِHis wayبِأَمْوَالِهِمwith their wealthوَأَنفُسِهِمand themselves.وَذَٰلِكَAnd thatأَنَّisهَذَاthisهُوَisالْعَهْدُthe covenantالْمَأْخُوذُtakenعَلَىonالْأَوَّلِينَthe firstوَالْآخِرِينَand the last.
And they strove in His way with their wealth and themselves. And that is the covenant taken on the first and the last.
كَمَاAsقَالَHe saidتَعَالَىthe Most Highآلِ عِمْرَانَthe family of ImranوَإِذْAnd whenأَخَذَGod tookاللَّهُthe covenantمِيثَاقَof the prophetsالنَّبِيِّينَthe prophets.لَمَّاWhenآتَيْتُكُمْI have given youمِنfromكِتَابٍthe Bookوَحِكْمَةٍand Wisdom.
As He said, the Most High in the family of Imran, 'And when God took the covenant of the prophets, when I have given you from the Book and Wisdom.
ثُمَّThenجَاءَكُمْa Messenger came to youرَسُولٌwho is a messengerمُصَدِّقٌconfirmingلِمَاwhatمَعَكُمْis with you.لَتُؤْمِنُنَّTo believe in himبِهِand to support him.
Then a Messenger will come to you confirming what is with you, that you would believe in him and support him.
قَالَAnd He saidأَأَقَرَّرْتُمْDo you confirm?وَأَخَذْتُمْAnd have you takenعَلَىuponذَلِكُمthis your covenant?إِصْرِيThe bond of the covenantالْآيَةُthe verse.
And He said, 'Do you confirm this your covenant? The bond of the covenant is the verse.
قَالَHe saidابْنُIbnعَبَّاسٍAbbasمَاnoبَعَثَsentاللَّهُGodنَبِيًّاa prophetإِلَّاexceptأَخَذَHe tookعَلَيْهِupon himالْمِيثَاقَthe covenantلَئِنْthat ifبَعَثَHe sendsمُحَمَّدًاMuhammadوَهُوَwhile he isحَيًّاaliveلَيُؤْمِنُنَّto believe in himبِهِand support him.
Ibn Abbas said, 'God has not sent a prophet except He took upon him the covenant that if Muhammad were sent while he is alive, they would believe in him and support him.
وَأَمَرَهُAnd He commanded himأَنْthatيَأْخُذَhe must takeالْمِيثَاقَthe covenantعَلَىuponأُمَّتِهِhis nationلِيُؤْمِنُنَّto believe in himبِهِand support him.
And He commanded him that he must take the covenant upon his nation to believe in him and support him.
وَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَىthe Most Highالْحَدِيدُthe IronلَقَدْIndeedأَرْسَلْنَاWe have sentرُسُلَنَاOur messengersبِالْبَيِّنَاتِwith clear evidenceوَأَنْزَلْنَاand We have sent downمَعَهُمwith themالْكِتَابَthe Bookوَالْمِيزَانَand the Balanceلِيَقُومَto establishالنَّاسَthe peopleبِالْقِسْطِwith fairness.
And He said the Most High, in the Iron, 'Indeed, We have sent Our messengers with clear evidence and sent down with them the Book and the Balance to establish the people with fairness.
وَأَنْزَلْنَاAnd We sent downالْحَدِيدَthe Ironفِيهِin itبَأْسٍis strengthشَدِيدٍsevere.وَمَنَافِعَAnd benefitsلِلنَّاسِfor the peopleوَلِيَعْلَمَand to knowاللَّهُAllahمَنْwhoيَنْصُرُهُsupports himوَرُسُلَهُand His messengers.بِالْغَيْبِin the unseen.
And We sent down the Iron in it, which is strength severe, and benefits for the people, and to know who supports Him and His messengers in the unseen.
إِنَّIndeedاللَّهَAllahقَوِيٌّis strongعَزِيزٌand mighty.
Indeed, Allah is strong and mighty.
فَذَكَرَAnd He mentionedتَعَالَىthe Most Highأَنَّهُthat Heأَنْزَلَsent downالْكِتَابَthe Bookوَالْمِيزَانَand the Balanceوَأَنَّهُand that Heأَنْزَلَsent downالْحَدِيدَthe Ironلِأَجْلِfor the purpose ofالْقِيَامِestablishingبِالْقِسْطِwith fairness.
And He mentioned the Most High that He sent down the Book and the Balance, and that He sent down the Iron for the purpose of establishing fairness.
وَلِيَعْلَمَAnd to knowاللَّهُAllahمَنْwhoيَنْصُرُهُsupports Himوَرُسُلَهُand His messengers.وَلِهَذَاAnd for this reasonكَانَthere wasقِيَامٌthe maintenanceالدِّينِof the religionبِكِتَابٍwith a Bookيَهْدِيthat guidesوَسَيْفٍand a swordيَنْصُرُthat supports.
And to know who supports Him and His messengers. And for this reason, there was the maintenance of the religion with a Book that guides and a sword that supports.
وَكَفَىٰAnd sufficientبِرَبِّكَis your Lordهَادِيًاa guideوَنَصِيرًاand a supporter.
And sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a supporter.
وَالْكِتَابُAnd the Bookوَالْحَدِيدُand the IronوَإِنْAnd ifاشْتَرَكََاthey both are combinedفِيinالْإِنْزَالِthe sending downفَلَاthen notيَمْنَعُpreventأَنْthatيَكُونَthere beأَحَدُهُمَاone of themنُزِّلَsent downمِنfromحَيْثُwhereلَمْnotيُنَزَّلْbe sent downالْآخَرُthe other.
And the Book and the Iron, although they are combined in being sent down, do not prevent that one of them be sent down from where the other was not sent down.
حَيْثُWhereنُزِّلَthe Bookالْكِتَابُwas sent downمِنfromاللَّهِGodكَمَاasقَالَsaidتَعَالَىthe Most Highأَوَّلُthe firstالزُّمَرِof the chaptersتَنْزِيلُthe sending downالْكِتَابِthe BookمِنfromاللَّهِGodالْعَزِيزِthe Mightyالْحَكِيمِthe Wise.
Where the Book was sent down from God as the Most High said in the beginning of the chapters, 'The sending down of the Book is from God the Mighty the Wise.
وَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَىthe Most Highأَوَّلُthe firstهُودٍof Hoodكِتَابٌthe Bookأُحْكِمَتْwas perfectedآيَاتُهُits versesثُمَّThenفُصِّلَتْexplainedمِنْfromلَدُنْthe presence ofحَكِيمٍthe Wiseخَبِيرٍthe All-Aware.
And He said the Most High in Hood, 'The Book was perfected its verses, then explained from the presence of the Wise, the All-Aware.
وَقَالَAnd He saidالنَّمْلُthe AntsوَإِنَّكَAnd indeed youلَتَلَقَّىyou receiveالْقُرْآنَthe Quranمِنfromلَدُنْthe presence ofحَكِيمٍthe Wiseعَلِيمٍthe All-Knowing.
And He said the Most High in the Ants, 'And indeed you receive the Quran from the presence of the Wise, the All-Knowing.
وَالْحَدِيدُAnd the Ironأُنزِلَwas sent downمِنfromالْجِبَالِthe mountainsالَّتِيwhichيَخْلُقُcreatesفِيهَاin it.وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd likewiseوُصِفَdescribedالصَّادِقِينَthe truthfulفِيinدَعْوَىthe claimالْبِرِّof righteousnessالَّذِيwhichهُوَisجَمَاعَةٌthe collectiveالدِّينِof the religionفِيinقَوْلِهِHis sayingالْبَقَرَةِthe Cowلَيْسَis notالْبِرُّrighteousnessأَنْthatتُوَلُّواyou turn.
And the Iron was sent down from the mountains that creates in it. And likewise, the truthful in the claim of righteousness, which is the collective of the religion is as mentioned in His saying in the Cow, 'Righteousness is not that you turn.
