He left that love. Then if God is more beloved to the servant than everything, and feared by him more than everything, no passion or competition can occur except at times of negligence or weakness.
فَكُلَّمَاSo wheneverفَعَلَthe servant performsالْعَبْدُobedienceمَحَبَّةًout of loveلِلَّهِfor Godوَخَوْفًاand fearمِنْهُfrom Himوَتَرَكَand abandonmentالْمَعْصِيَةَof sinحُبًّاout of loveلَهُfor Himوَخَوْفًاand fearمِنْهُfrom Himقَوِيَتْstrengthensحُبُّهُhis loveلَهُfor himوَخَوْفُهُand his fearمِنْهُfrom Himفَيُزِيلُthen removesمَاwhatفِيinالْقَلْبِthe heartمِنْfromمَحَبَّةٍthe loveغَيْرِهِof other than Himوَمَخَافَةٍand the fearغَيْرِهِof other than Him.
So whenever the servant performs obedience out of love for God and fear of Him, and abandons sin out of love for Him and fear of Him, his love for Him and his fear from Him increases, removing what is in the heart from the love of other than Him and the fear of other than Him.
