Allah (peace be upon him) said: "What ever befalls a person, sadness or grief, then he says: O Allah, I am Your servant, the son of Your servant, the son of Your female servant, my forelock is in Your hand, Your judgment is continuing, justice is in Your decree. I ask You, O Allah, by every name that is Yours which You named Yourself, or taught to any of Your creation, or revealed in Your Book, or kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen with You: to make the Quran the great spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the relief of my sadness and the removal of my concern; except that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will remove his concern and sadness, and replace it with joy." It was said: O Messenger of Allah, should we not learn this? He said: Yes, it is necessary for whoever hears it (1) to learn it." (2) Ibn Mas'ud said: "No prophet from the prophets was distressed except he sought help with glorification (3) and Ibn Abi Dunya mentioned in the book of the responders in supplication (4) that Al-Hasan (H) said: There was a man from the companions of the Prophet from the Ansar known as Abu Mu‘allaq, provided for by Abu Salama Al-Juhani from Al-Qasim ibn Abd al-Rahman from his father from Ibn Mas'ud, and he mentioned it. Al-Hakim said: This hadith is authentic according to the condition of Muslim, if it is free from the narration of Abdul-Rahman ibn Abdullah from his father, for there is disagreement concerning his hearing from his father. Al-Dhahabi followed him with his saying: And Abu Salama is unknown and has no narration in the six books. I said: Abdul-Rahman did not hear from his father Ibn Mas'ud except a hadith or something like it due to his young age. And if Abu Salama is Musa ibn Abdullah, then he is trustworthy, otherwise he is unknown. And Allah knows best. See Al-Jami of Al-Alai (437). The hadith was authenticated by Ibn Habban, Al-Hakim, the author, and others, and graded as good by Ibn Hajar in Lisan (84/9). (1) See: he hears it. (2) Look, the interpretation of this hadith in Shifa al-Alil (274). (3) I did not find it. (4) Number (23), its chain does not establish.
