عَلَىOnاسْمِthe nameاللَّهِof Godالْأَعْظَمِ؟the Most Great?
On the name of the Most Great God?
دُعَاءُSupplicationيُونُسَ.of Jonah.
The supplication of Jonah.
فَقَالَHe saidرَجُلٌ:a man:يَاOرَسُولَ اللَّـهِ،Messenger of God,هَلْ (١)was it (1)كَانَتْspecificلِيُونُسَto Jonahخَاصَّةً؟only?
A man said: O Messenger of God, was it (1) specific to Jonah?
فَقَالَ:He said:«أَلَا"Do you notتَسْمَعُhearقَوْلَهُ:his saying:﴿["فَاسْتَجَبْنَاWe respondedلَهُto himوَنَجَّيْنَاهُand saved himمِنَfromالْغَمِّthe distressوَكَذَلِكَand thusنُشَجِّعُWe supportالْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴾the believers."
He said: "Do you not hear his saying: 'We responded to him and saved him from the distress, and thus We support the believers' ".
[الْأَنْبِيَاءِ/[Al-Anbiya/
[Al-Anbiya/ 88]
فَأَيْنَمَاSo whereverمُسْلِمٌa Muslimدَعَاcallsبِهَاwith itفِيinلاnoمَرَضِهِhis illnessأَرْبَعِينَfortyمَرَّةً،times,فَمَاتَif he diesفِيinمَرَضِهِhis illnessذَٰلِكَ،that,أُعْطِيَhe will be givenأَجْرَthe rewardشَهِيدٍ.of a martyr.
So wherever a Muslim calls with it in his illness forty times, if he dies in that illness, he will be given the reward of a martyr.
وَإِنْAnd ifبَرِئَhe recoversبَرِئَhe recoversمَغْفُورًَاforgivenلَهُ»for him."
And if he recovers, he will be forgiven."
(۲)(2)وَفِيAnd inالصَّحِيحَيْنِthe two authentic booksمِنْfromحَدِيثِthe narrationابْنِof IbnعَبَّاسٍAbbasأَنَّthatرَسُولَthe Messengerاللَّـهِ ﷺof God , may God bless him and grant him peaceكَانَwasيَقُولُsayingعِنْدَin the time ofالْكُرْبِ:distress:«لا"There is noإِلَهَgodإِلَّاexceptاللَّـهَGodالْعَظِيمَthe Almightyالْحَلِيمَthe ForbearingلاThere is noإِلَهَgodإِلَّاexceptاللَّـهَGodرَبَّthe Lordالْعَرْشِof the Throneالْعَظِيمِ)the Almighty,لاThere is noإِلَهَgodإِلَّاexceptاللَّـهَGodرَبَّthe Lordالسَّمَاوَاتِof the heavensوَرَبَّand the Lordالْأَرْضِof the earthرَبَّthe Lordالْعَرْشِof the Throneالْكَرِيمِ.the Generous.
And in the two authentic books, from the narration of Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was saying in times of distress: "There is no god except God, the Almighty, the Forbearing; There is no god except God, the Lord of the Throne, the Almighty; There is no god except God, the Lord of the heavens and the Lord of the earth, the Lord of the Throne, the Generous."
وَفِيAnd inمُسْنَدِthe Musnadالإِمَامِof the ImamأَحْمَدَAhmad(٤)(4)مِنْfromحَدِيثِthe narrationعَلِيِّAliبْنِbinأَبِيAbuطَالِبٍTalibرَضِيَmay God be pleasedاللَّـهُ عَنْهُwith him::عَلَّمَنِيtaught meرَسُولُ اللَّـهِ ﷺ -the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace -إِذَاifنَزَلَتْI faceبِيmeكُرْبَةً -distress -أَنْtoأَقُولَ:say: "There is noلاgodإِلَهَexceptإِلَّاGodاللَّـهَthe Forbearingالْحَلِيمَthe Generous.سُبْحَانَGlory be toاللَّـهِGod[١/٠] ،[1/0],وَتَبَارَكَand blessedاللَّـهِGodرَبَّthe Lordالْعَرْشِof the Throneالْعَظِيمِ،the Almighty,وَالْحَمْدُand praiseلِلَّهِbe to Godرَبَّthe Lordالْعَالَمِينَ».of the worlds."
And in the Musnad of Imam Ahmad (4), from the narration of Ali ibn Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, taught me - if I face distress - to say: "There is no god except God, the Forbearing, the Generous; Glory be to God, and blessed be God, the Lord of the Throne, the Almighty; and praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds."
وَفِيAnd inمُسْنَدِهِhis Musnad(۱)(1)س:Q:(هِيَ).(it is).(٥)(5)أَيْضًاAlsoمِنْfromحَدِيثِthe narrationعَبْدِ اللَّهِof AbdullahبْنِbinمَسْعُودٍMas'udقَالَ:said:قَالَThe MessengerرَسُولُMessengerاللَّـهِof God ﷺmay God bless him and grant him peace.
And in his Musnad (1), Q: (it is). (5) Also from the narration of Abdullah bin Mas'ud he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.
