وَقَدْAndثَبَتَit was establishedفِيinالصَّحِيحَيْنِthe two authentic booksمِنْfromحَدِيثِthe narrationأَبِي سَعِيدٍof Abu Sa'idقَالَhe said::انْطَلَقَA group set outنَفَرٌa fewمِنَfromأَصْحَابِthe companionsالنَّبِيِّof the Prophetفِيonسَفْرَةٍa journeyسَافَرُوهَاthey traveled on it,,حَتَّىuntilنَزَلُواthey settledعَلَىonحَيٍّa tribeمِنْofأَحْيَاءِthe tribesالعَرَبِof the Arabs,,فَاسْتَضَافُوهُمْand they sought hospitality from them,,فَأَبُواbut they refusedأَنْtoيُضَيفُوهُمْhost them..
And it was established in the two authentic books from the narration of Abu Sa'id that he said: A group set out from the companions of the Prophet on a journey they traveled on until they settled on a tribe of the Arabs, and they sought hospitality from them, but they refused to host them.
فَلُدِغَتْThen the chief was stungسَيِّدُthe leaderذَلِكَof thatالْحَيِّtribe,,فَسَعَوْاand they hurriedلَهُfor himبِكُلِّwith everythingشَيْءٍthey could,,لاnothingيَنْفَعُهُbenefited himشَيْءٌat all,,فَقَالَso one of them saidبَعْضُهُمْsome of them::لَوْifأَتَيْتُمْyou went toهَؤُلَاءِthoseالرَّهْطِmenالَّذِينَwhoنَزَلُواsettled,,لَعَلَّهُperhapsأَنْtoيَكُونَbeعِندَwithبَعْضِهِمsome of themشَيْءٌsomething.
Then the chief of the tribe was stung, and they hurried for him with everything they could, but nothing benefited him at all. So one of them said: If you went to those men who settled, perhaps some of them may have something.
فَأَتَوْهُمْSo they came to them,,فَقَالُواand they said::أَيُّهَاOhالرَّهْطُmen,,إِنَّindeedسَيِّدَنَاour chiefلُدِغَwas stung,,وَسَعَيْنَاand we triedلَهُfor himبِكُلِّwith everythingشَيْءٍpossibleلَاbut nothingيَنْفَعُهُbenefited him,,فَهَلْso is thereعِندَwithأَحَدٍanyoneمِنْكُمْof youمِنْanything?شَيْءٍ:
So they came to them and said: Oh men, indeed our chief was stung, and we tried everything for him but nothing benefited him. So is there anyone of you who has something?
فَقَالَSo one of them saidبَعْضُهُمْsome of them::نَعَمْYesوَاللَّهِby Godإِنِّيindeed Iلَأَرْقِيَنَّwill perform a healing,,وَلَكِنْbutوَاللَّهِby Godاسْتَضَفْنَاكُمْwe sought hospitality from youفَلَمْbut you did notتُضَيِّفُونَاhost us,,فَمَاso I am notأَنَاI amبَرَاقٌone who healsحَتَّىuntilتَجْعَلُواyou makeلَنَاfor usجُعْلًاa payment.
So one of them said: Yes, by God, indeed I will perform a healing, but by God, we sought hospitality from you and you did not host us, so I am not one who heals until you make for us a payment.
فَصَالَحُوهُمْSo they agreed with themعَلَىonقَطِيعٍa flockمِنَofالْغَنَمِsheep.
So they agreed with them on a flock of sheep.
فَانْطَلَقَSo he wentيَتَفُلُand began to blowعَلَيْهِon him,,وَيَقْرَأُand recite﴿[الْحَمْدُPraiseلِلَّهِbe to Godرَبِّthe Lordالْعَالَمِينَof the worlds﴾].فَكَأَنَّمَاSo it was as ifنُشِطَhe was relievedمِنْfromعِقَالٍa restraint,,فَانْطَلَقَso he wentيَمْشِيwalking,,وَمَاand there was noبِهِupon himقَلَبَةٌpain.
So he went and began to blow on him and recited: 'Praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds'. So it was as if he was relieved from a restraint, so he went walking, and there was no pain upon him.
فَأَوْفَوْهُمْSo they paid themجُعْلَهُمْtheir dueالَّذِيwhichصَالَحُوهُمْthey agreed with themعَلَيْهِupon.فَقَالَSo one of them saidبَعْضُهُمْsome of them:,اقْتَسِمُواdivide up,,فَقَالَbut he saidالَّذِيthe one whoرَقَىhealed::لَاnoنَفْعَلُwe will notحَتَّىuntilنَأْتِيَwe come toالنَّبِيِّthe Prophetﷺ. فَنَذْكُرَand mentionلَهُto himالَّذِيthat whichكَانَhappened,,فَنَنظُرَand seeبِمَاwhatيَأْمُرُنَاhe commands us..
So they paid them their due which they agreed upon. One of them said: Divide up the payment, but the one who healed said: No, we will not do until we come to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and mention to him that which happened and see what he commands us.
فَقدَمُواSo they presented themselvesعَلَىtoرَسُولِthe Messengerاللهِof Godﷺ. فَذَكَرُواThey mentionedلَهُto himذَٰلِكَthat,,فَقَالَand he said::وَمَاand whatيُدْرِيكَmakes you knowأَنَّهَاthat it isرُقْيَةٌa healing?ثُمَّThenقَالَ: قَدْIndeedأَصَبْتُمْyou have succeeded,,اقْتَسِمُواdivide among yourselvesوَاضْرِبُواand strikeلِيْfor meمَعَكُمْwith youسَهْمًاa share..
So they presented themselves to the Messenger of God (peace be upon him). They mentioned that to him, and he said: And what makes you know that it is a healing? Then he said: Indeed, you have succeeded; divide among yourselves and strike for me a share with you.
