الدِّينُthe religionمِنْfromالْقَرْنِthe century
The religion is from the century.
وَتَوَالَتْand continuedبَعْدَafterذَٰلِكَthatطَبْعَاتُهُits editions
And after that, its editions continued.
وَكَانَAnd there wasمِنْهَاamong themطَبْعَةٌthe editionالشَّيْخُthe SheikhمُحَمَّدٌMuhammadمُحْيِيAl-MuhyiعَبْدُAbdالْحَمِيدِAl-Hamidرَحِمَهُmay God have mercy on himالَّذِيwhoاعْتَمَدَreliedفِيهاin itعَلَىonنُسْخَةٍa manuscriptخَطِّيَّةٍwritten
And among them was the edition of Sheikh Muhammad Al-Muhyi Abd Al-Hamid, may God have mercy on him, who relied on a handwritten manuscript in it.
الثَّالِثَةُthe thirdعَشَرَten
The thirteenth.
ثُمَّThenصَدَرَتْother editions were issuedطَبْعَاتٌeditionsأُخَرٌother
Then other editions were issued.
اعْتَمَدُواThey claimed to relyفِيinكُلٍّeachمِنْهَاof themـ زَعَمُوا ـ- they claimed -عَلَىonنُسْخَةٍa singleواحِدَةٍoneمُتَأَخِّرَةٍthat is lateأَوْorغَيْرَnotصَالِحَةٍvalidلِلِاعْتِمَادِto be relied uponعَلَيْهَاon it.
They claimed to rely on each of them on a single late manuscript or one that is not valid to be relied upon.
وَقَدْAnd theyبَذَلَexertedأَصْحَابُهَاits ownersجُهْدًاan effortمَشْكُورًاappreciatedفِيinتَصْحِيحِهَاcorrecting itوَتَخْرِيجِand authenticatingأَحَادِيثِهَاits hadithsوَحُسْنِand niceإِخْرَاجِهَاpresentation of it.
And its owners exerted an appreciated effort in correcting it and authenticating its hadiths and presenting it nicely.
غَيْرَHoweverأَنَّهَاthat all of themجَمِيعًاtogetherلَمْdid notيَتَّبِعْfollowفِيهاin itالْمَنْهَجَthe scientific methodالْعِلْمِيَّknownالمَعْرُوفَin the verification of texts.
However, all of them did not follow the known scientific method in the verification of texts.
أَمَّاAs forهَذِهِthisالطَّبْعَةُeditionالَّتِيthatبَيْنَis betweenأَيْدِيكُمْyour handsفَهِيَit isصَادِرَةٌissuedعَنْfromأَرْبَعٍfourنُسَخٍmanuscriptsخَطِّيَّةٍwrittenمِنْfromالْقَرْنِthe centuryالثَّامِنِthe eighth.
As for this edition that is between your hands, it is issued from four handwritten manuscripts from the eighth century.
وَقَدْAnd one of themكُتِبَتْwas writtenإِحْدَاهَاone of themبَعْدَafterوَفَاةِthe deathالْمُؤَلِّفِof the authorرَحِمَهُmay God have mercy on himاللَّهُGodبِتِسْعٍnineعَشَرَtenسَنَةٍyearsمَعَwithالاِسْتِئْنَاسِacknowledgmentبِنَصْخَتَيْنِof two copiesمِنْfromالْقَرْنِthe centuryالثَّانِيَةِthe secondعَشَرَten.
And one of them was written nine years after the death of the author, may God have mercy on him, with the acknowledgment of two manuscripts from the twelfth century.
وَقَدْAnd it hasعُنِيَتْbeen concernedفِيهَاin itبِتَحْرِيرِwith the editingمَتْنِof the textالْكِتَابِof the bookعِنَايَةًwith great careبَالِغَةًvery muchبِالْإِضَافَةِin additionإِلَىtoالتَّوْثِيقِthe documentationوَالتَّخْرِيجِand the authenticationوَالْفَهَارِسِand the indicesالْوَافِيَةِcompleteالْمُتَنَوِّعَةِvaried.
And it has been concerned in it with the editing of the text of the book with great care, in addition to the documentation, authentication, and complete diverse indices.
وَقَدْAnd I haveأَعَدَّتُpreparedدِرَاسَةًa studyلِلْكِتَابِof the bookتَشْمَلُincludingعَلَىonتَوْثِيقِthe documentationنِسْبَةِof the attributionالْكِتَابِof the bookوَتَحْقِيقِand verificationعُنوانِهِof its titleوَتَحْلِيلِand analysisمَبَاحِثِهِof its topicsوَتَفْصِيلِand detailingمَوَارِدِهِits referencesوَوَصْفِand descriptionالنُّسَخِof the manuscriptsالْمُعْتَمَدَةِused in this editionفِيinهَذِهِthisالطَّبْعَةِeditionوَالْمَنْهَجِand the methodologyالَّذِيthatاُتِّبِعَwas followedفِيinإِعْدَادِهَاits preparation.
And I have prepared a study of the book including the documentation of its attribution, verification of its title, analysis of its topics, detailing its references, and description of the manuscripts used in this edition and the methodology that was followed in its preparation.
وَبَعْدَAnd after thatفَإِنِّيI indeedأَحْمَدُpraiseاللَّهَGodعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Almighty and ExaltedعَلَىforأَنْthatوَفَّقَHe has granted successلِإِخْرَاجِto the publicationهَذِهِthisالنَّشْرَةِissueالْعِلْمِيَّةِscientificمِنْofالْكِتَابِthe bookوَهُوَand He isالْمَسْؤُولُthe responsibleأَنْthatيَتَقَبَّلَHe acceptsهَذَاthisالْعَمَلَworkوَيَنْفَعَand benefitsبِهِby itوَيُبَارِكَand blessفِيهِin it.
And after that, I indeed praise God, the Almighty and Exalted, for granting success to the publication of this scientific issue of the book, and He is responsible for accepting this work, benefiting by it, and blessing in it.
وَرَضِيَAnd may God be pleasedعَنْwithمُؤَلِّفِهِits authorالإِمَامِthe ImamابْنِIbnقَيِّمٍQayyimالْجَوْزِيَّةِAl-Jawziyyahوَأَعْلٍand elevateدَرَجَاتِهِhis ranksفِيinجَنَّاتِthe gardensالنَّعِيمِof bliss.
And may God be pleased with its author, the Imam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah, and elevate his ranks in the gardens of bliss.
وَصَلَّىAnd I ask for blessingsاللَّهُupon Godوَسَلَّمَand peaceعَلَىuponعَبْدِهِHis servantوَرَسُولِهِand His Messengerنَبِيِّنَاour prophetمُحَمَّدٍMuhammadوَعَلَىand uponآلِهِhis familyوَصَحْبِهِand his companionsأَجْمَعِينَall together.
And I ask for blessings upon God and peace upon His servant and Messenger, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions altogether.
