So narrated Abu Dawood in his Sunan from the hadith of Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: 'He went forth on a journey and faced a storm from the sea, and he found himself confused. Then he had a wet dream; so his companions asked him, 'Do you find an exemption in seeking?' They said, 'You found no exemption while you are able to wash.'

So he died, and then when we were informed about his daily affairs, the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, said, 'They killed him; may Allah kill them! They ask if they did not assist.' Then they should seize the means to what was an illness that should be finalized. Thus one established a cloth upon his injury, then rubbed on it, and washed the Sabrin, Lady.
