الْمَرْحُومِthe deceasedحَجَّارَHajjarالْحَجَّارِيِّthe Hujjariteالْحَنبَلِيِّthe HanbaliغَفَرَforgiveاللَّهُGodلَهُfor himآمِينَAmen

The deceased Hajjar the Hujjarite, the Hanbali, may God forgive him, Amen.

٤4وَعَنْAnd aboutيَمِينِهِhis rightاِنْتَقَلَtransferredإِلَىtoمَلَكِهُthe ownershipكَاتِبِهِof his scribeبِالْاِبْتِيَاعِby legal purchaseالشَّرْعِيِّthe Shari'ahسَنَةٍyearخَمْسِينَfiftyوَتِسْعِمِائَةٍand nine hundredأَبُوAbuالْخَيْرِal-Khayrبِنْson ofإِبْرَاهِيمَIbrahimالْحَِجازِيِّthe Hijaziالْحَنبَلِيِّthe Hanbaliلُطْفَmay He be kindاللَّهُGodبِهِto himآمِينَAmen

And to his right: 'He was transferred to the ownership of his scribe by legal purchase in the year fifty and nine hundred. Abu al-Khayr son of Ibrahim the Hijazi the Hanbali, may God be kind to him, Amen'.

Thus it has been recorded here that the year of purchase was 950, but at the end of the copy, it was stated that it was purchased in 954, and he said:

He was transferred to the ownership of his scribe by legal purchase from the Sheikh.

الْمَاتَانِيthe Matani

The Matani.

In the beginning of the month of Rabi' al-Thani of the years four and fifty and nine hundred. Abu al-Khayr the Hijazi.

He read in it, calling for its owner for guidance and success in his paths, the poorest of the servants of God, Muhammad son of ‘Inayah Allah the Moroccan, the Hanafi, one of the servants of noble science in Jerusalem, may He grant forgiveness to him.

And before the page of the title, another paper was added, carrying the title of the book, and the name of the author, and phrases from it, two bindings for ownership, one of them from the writings of Al-Mustaji.

(1) Perhaps it is Sheikh Najm al-Din Muhammad al-Matani who passed away around 960, and he described him in Shadharat al-Dhahab (327/4) as the Imam, the learned, the jurist, the hadith scholar, al-Salahi.
