صُرَّةٌA pouchمَكْتُوبٌwrittenعَلَيْهَاon it::هَذَاthisكَانَwasيَنْبُتُgrowingفِيinزَمَنٍthe time ofالْعَدْلِjustice(١)
A pouch written on it: "This was growing in the time of justice (1).
وَكَثِيرٌAnd manyمِنَofهَذِهِtheseالْآفَاتِpestsأَحْدَثَهَاcaused themاللَّهُGodسُبْحَانَهُthe Exaltedبِمَاby whatأَحْدَثَcausedالْعِبَادَthe servantsمِنَofالذُّنُوبِsins.وَأَخْبَرَنِيAnd a group informed meجَمَاعَةٌa groupمِنَofشُيُوخِthe scholarsالصَّحْرَاءِof the desertأَنَّهُمْthat theyكَانُواwereيُعَاهِدُونَaccustomed to seeingالثَّمَارَthe fruitsأَكْبَرَlargerمِمَّاthan whatهِيَthey areالْآنَnow،,وَكَثِيرٌAnd manyمِنَofهَذِهِtheseالْآفَاتِpestsالَّتِيthatتُصِيبُهَاafflict it(٢)لَمْdid notيَكُونُواthey knowيَعْرِفُونَهَاthem,وَإِنَّمَاbut(۳)حَدَثَتْoccurredمِنْfromقُرْبٍproximity.
And many of these pests were caused by God, the Exalted, by what the servants caused from sins. A group of scholars from the desert informed me that they were accustomed to seeing the fruits larger than they are now, and many of these pests that afflict it (2) they did not know them, but (3) they occurred from proximity.
وَأَمَّاAs forتَأْثِيرِthe effect ofالذُّنُوبِsins(٤)فِيinالصُّورِformsوَالْخَلْقِand creation,فَقَدْthere isرَوَىnarratedالتِّرْمِذِيُّAl-Tirmidhiفِيinجَامِعِهِhis collection(٥)عَنْهُfrom himأَنَّهُthat heقَالَsaid::خَلَقَGod createdآدَمَAdamوَطُولَهُand his heightفِيinالسَّمَاءِthe skyسِتُّونَsixty(٦)ذِرَاعًاarms,فَلَمْand it did notيَزَلcontinueالْخَلْقُcreationيَنْقُصُdecreaseحَتَّىuntilالْآنَnow.
As for the effect of sins (4) in forms and creation, Al-Tirmidhi narrated in his collection (5) from him that he said: "God created Adam, and his height in the sky was sixty (6) arms, and creation did not cease to decrease until now."
وَلَمَّاAnd whenيُطَهِّرُGod purifies(٧)اللَّهُthe Exaltedسُبْحَانَهُthe Exaltedالْأَرْضَthe earthمِنَofالظُّلْمَةِdarknessوَالْفُجَّارِand the wickedوَالْخَوَنَةِand the traitors(۸)،,(۱)لِزَمَانِto time«الْعَدْلِjustice»::«وُجِدَfoundفِيinزَمَنِthe timeزِيَادِof Ziyadأَوْorابْنِthe son ofزِيَادٍZiyadصُرَّةٌa pouchفِيهَاin itحَبٌّseedsأَمْثَالٌsimilar toالنَّوَىٰthe stonesعَلَيْهِon itمَكْتُوبٌwritten::هَذَاthisنَبَتَgrewفِيinزَمَنٍthe time ofكَانَwasيُعْمَلُdoneفِيهِin itبِالْعَدْلِ.with justice.
And when God, the Exalted, purifies the earth from darkness, wickedness, and traitors (8), his saying is: "Found in the time of Ziyad or the son of Ziyad was a pouch with seeds similar to the stones on it written: This grew in a time when justice was practiced."
