يَرْجِعُreturnsإِلَيْهِto him

He returns to him.

كُلَّمَاwheneverرَجَعَhe returnsإِلَيْهِto himفَغَرَhe gapedلَهُat himفَاه،his mouth,فَأَلْقَمَهُand fed himحَجَرًاa stone

Whenever he returns to him, he gaped at him and fed him a stone.

قُلْتُI saidلَهُمَاto them::مَاwhatهَذَان؟are these?

I said to them: What are these?

قَاَلَاthey saidلِيto me::انْطَلِقْgo.انْطَلِقْGo.

They said to me: Go.

فَانْطَلَقْنَا،So we went,فَأَتَيْنَاand we cameعَلَىuponرَجُلٍa manكَرِيهٍuglyالْمَرْآةِof appearance,كَأَكْرَهَas uglyمَاas whatأَنْتَyouرَأَيْتَseeرَجُلاًa manمَرْأًى،of appearance,وَإِذَاand beholdهُوَheعِندَهُhasنَارٌfireيَحُشُّهَاhe feeds itوَيَسْعَىand he walksحَوْلَهَا».around it.

So we went, and we came across an ugly man of appearance, as ugly as you can see a man, and behold, he had fire that he was feeding and he was walking around it.

قَالَ:He said:«قُلْتُI saidلَهُمَاto them:مَاWhatهَذَا؟is this?

He said: I said to them: What is this?

قَاَلَاThey saidلِيto me::انْطَلِقْgo.انْطَلِقْGo.

They said to me: Go.

فَانْطَلَقْنَا،So we went,فَأَتَيْنَاand we came uponرَوْضَةٍa meadowمُعْتَمَّةٍdarkenedفِيهَاin itمِنْfromكُلِّeveryنُورٍlightالرَّبِيعِ،of spring,وَإِذَاand beholdبَيْنَbetweenظَهْرَانِthe centers ofالرَّوْضَةِthe meadowرَجُلٌa manطَوِيلٌtallلَاnotأَكَادُI seeأَرَىto seeرَأْسَهُhis headطُولًاin heightفِيinالسَّمَاءِ،the sky,وَإِذَاand beholdحَوْلَaroundالرَّجُلِthe manمِنَofأَكْثَرَthe mostوَلَدٍchildrenرَأَيْتُهُمْI have ever seenقَطٍّ»at all.

So we went, and we came upon a darkened meadow, in which there was from every light of spring, and behold, between the centers of the meadow was a tall man whose head I could hardly see in height in the sky, and around the man were more children than I have ever seen at all.

قَالَHe said:«قُلْتُI saidمَاWhatهَذَا؟is this?وَمَاand whatهَؤُلَاءِare these?»

He said: I said: What is this? And what are these?

قَالُواThey saidلِيto me: انْطَلِقْGo.انْطَلِقْGo.

They said to me: Go.

فَانْطَلَقْنَا،So we went,فَأَتَيْنَاand we came toدَوْحَةٍa treeعَظِيمَةٍgreatلَمْI have notأَرَseenدَوْحَةًa treeقَطُّeverأَعْظَمَgreaterمِنْهَاthan itوَلَاand notأَحْسَنَmore beautiful

So we went, and we came to a great tree, which I had never seen greater than it or more beautiful!

قَالَHe said:«قَالُواThey saidلِيto me:اِرْقَClimbفِيها،in it,فَارْتَقَيْنَاand we ascendedفِيهاin itإِلَىtoمَدِينَةٍa cityمَبْنِيَّةٍbuiltبِلَبِنٍof bricksذَهَبٍgoldوَلَبِنٍand bricksفِضَّةٍsilver.

He said: They said to me: Climb in it, and we ascended in it to a city built of bricks of gold and silver.

قَالَ:He said:فَأَتَيْنَاAnd we came toبَابَthe gateالْمَدِينَةِ،of the city,فَاسْتَفْتَحْنَا،and we called out to open it,فَفُتِحَتْand it openedلَنَا،for us,

He said: And we came to the gate of the city, and we called out to open it, and it opened for us.
