يَجِدُfindsمِنَofالأَلَمِthe painبِمَفَارَقَتِه؛by separating from it;
He finds pain by separating from it;
كَمَاasصَرَّحَstatedبِذَٰلِكَabout thatشَيْخُthe chiefالْقَوْمِof the peopleالْحَسَنِAl-HassanبِنْbinهَانِئٍHani'
As stated by the chief of the people, Al-Hassan bin Hani'.
حَيْثُwhereيَقُولُhe says
Where he says:
وَكَأسٍAnd a cupشَرِبْتُI drankعَلَىonلَّذَّةٍpleasureوَأُخْرَىand anotherتَدَاوَيْتُI healedمِنْهَاby itبِهَاwith it
"And a cup I drank on pleasure, and another I healed by it."
وَقَالَAnd saidآخَرُanother
And another said:
فَكَانَتْSo it wasدَوَائِيmy remedyوَهِيَand it isدَائِيmy ailmentبِعَيْنِهِin its own rightكَمَاjust asيَتَدَاوَىone remedies himselfشَارِبُthe drinkerالْخَمْرِof wine
"So it was my remedy, and it was my ailment in its own right just as the drinker remedies himself with wine."
وَلَاAnd notيَزَالُceasesالْعَبْدُthe servantيُعَانِىto endureالطَّاعَةَobedienceوَيُؤَلِّفُهَا،and loves it,وَيُحِبُّهَا،and enjoys it,وَيُؤَثِّرُهَاand prefers itحَتَّىuntilيُرْسِلَHe sendsاللَّهَAllahسُبْحَانَهُthe Exaltedبِرَحْمَتِهِwith His mercyعَلَيْهِupon himالْمَلَائِكَةَthe angelsتُؤَزُّهُdrive himإِلَيْهَاto itأَزًّا،strongly,وَتُحَرِّضُهُand incite himعَلَيْهَا،to it,وَتُزْعِجُهُand bother himعَنْfromفِرَاشِهِhis bedوَمَجْلِسِهِand his sitting placeإِلَيَهَا.to it.
And the servant does not cease to endure obedience, love it, and prefer it until Allah sends His mercy upon him the angels drive him to it strongly, and incite him to it, and bother him from his bed and his sitting place to it.
وَلَاAnd notيَزَالُceasesيُؤَلِّفُto be familiar withالْمَعَاصِي،the disobedience,وَيُحِبُّهَا،and loves it,وَيُؤَثِّرُهَا،and prefers it,حَتَّىuntilيُرْسِلَHe sendsاللَّهَAllahعَلَيْهِupon himالشَّيَاطِينَthe devilsفَتُؤَزُّهُto drive himإِلَيْهَاto itأَزًّا.strongly.
And he does not cease to become familiar with disobedience, love it, and prefer it until Allah sends upon him the devils to drive him to it strongly.
فَالأَوَّلُSo the firstقَوَّىstrengthenedجُنْدَthe armiesالطَّاعَةِof obedienceبِالْمَدَدِby assistanceفَصَارُواso they becameمِنْamongأَكْبَرِthe biggestأَعْوَانِهِ.of his supporters.
So the first strengthened the armies of obedience by assistance so they became among the biggest of his supporters.
