And Abdullah bin Ahmed mentioned in his book of asceticism to his father about Muhammad bin Sirin.

أَنَّهُThatلَمَّاwhenرَكِبَهُhe was afflicted byٱلدَّيْنُdebtٱغْتَمَّhe became distressed.

That when he was afflicted by debt, he became distressed.

Thus, he said, 'Indeed I know this distress by a sin I committed for forty years!'

وَهَاهُنَاAnd hereنُقْطَةٌis a pointدَقِيقَةٌdelicateيَغْلِطُthat people errفِيinأَمْرِthe matterٱلذَّنبِ،of sin,

And here is a delicate point that people err in regarding the matter of sin,

وَهِيَand it isأَنَّهُمْthat theyلَاdo notيَرَوْنَseeتَأْثِيرَهُits effectفِيinٱلْحَالِ،the present,

and it is that they do not see its effect in the present,

and it may be delayed, and thus be forgotten, and one thinks that the servant does not report.

If the wall does not get dusted in its fall, then it is not for it after the fall, dust.
