إنَّهُIndeed, it isعَلَىuponإيمَانِthe faithجِبْرِيلَof Gabrielوَمِيكَائِيلَand Michael
Indeed, it is upon the faith of Gabriel and Michael.
وَيُذْكَرُAnd it is mentionedعَنْaboutالْحَسَنِAl-Hasan::مَاThat whichخَافَهُhe fearedإِلَّاexceptمُؤْمِنٌa believer،,وَلَاand notأَمِنَهُhe trusted himإِلَّاexceptمُنَافِقٌa hypocrite
And it is mentioned about Al-Hasan: That which he feared except a believer, and he did not trust him except a hypocrite.
وَكَانَAnd it wasعُمَرُOmarابْنَthe son ofالْخَطَّابِAl-Khattabيَقُولُsayingلِحُذَيْفَةَto Hudhayfah::أَنْشُدُكَI invoke youاللَّهَO Allah،,هَلْis itسَمَّانِيhe named meلَكَto youرَسُولُ اللَّهِthe Messenger of Allahﷺ(peace be upon him)؟?يَعْنِيmeaningفِيinالْمُنَافِقِينَthe hypocrites,,فَيَقُولُhe says:: لَاno،,وَلَاand notأُزَكِّيI testifyبَعْدَكَafter youأَحَدًاanyone.
And it was Omar ibn Al-Khattab saying to Hudhayfah: I invoke you, O Allah, did the Messenger of Allah name me among the hypocrites? He says: No, and I do not testify after you for anyone.
فَسَمِعْتُSo I heardشَيْخَنَاour sheikhرَحِمَهُmay he have mercyاللَّهُupon Allah()يَقُولُsaying:: لَيْسَIt is notمَرَادَهُhis intentionأَنِّيthat Iلَاdo notأُبَرِّئُdeclare innocentغَيْرَكَanyone elseمِنَfromالنِّفَاقِhypocrisy،,بَلْbutالْمُرَادُthe intention:: لَاnotأَفْتَحُI openعَلَيَّto meهَذَاthisالْبَابَdoor،,فَكُلُّso everyoneمَنwhoسَأَلَنِيasked me:: هَلْis itسَمَّانِيhe named meلَكَto youرَسُولُ اللَّهِthe Messenger of Allah؟?فَأُزَكُّيَهُthen I would testify for him.
So I heard our sheikh may Allah have mercy upon him saying: It is not his intention that I do not declare anyone else innocent of hypocrisy, but the intention is: I do not open this door for me, so everyone who asks me: Did the Messenger of Allah name me for you? Then I would testify for him.
قُلْتُI said:: وَقَرِيبٌAnd similarمِنْtoهَذَاthisقَوْلِsayingالنَّبِيِّthe Prophetلِلَّذِيto the one whoسَأَلَهُasked himأَنْtoيَدْعُوinvokeلَهُfor himأَنْtoيَكُونَbeمِنَamongالسَّبْعِينَthe seventyأَلْفًاthousandsالَّذِينَwhoيَدْخُلُونَenterالْجَنَّةَthe paradiseبِغَيْرِwithoutحِسَابٍaccount:: «سَبَقَكَYou have precededبِهَاwith itعُكَّاشَةُ»‘Ukashah.(٥))وَلَمAnd notيُرِدْhe intendedأَنْtoعُكَّاشَةَ‘Ukashahوَحْدَهُaloneأَحَقٌّmore deservingبِذَٰلِكَof thatمِمَّنْthan thoseعَدَاهُbesides himمِنْofعَنْهُhim.
I said: And similar to this is the saying of the Prophet to the one who asked him to invoke for him to be among those seventy thousand who enter Paradise without account: 'You have preceded with it ‘Ukashah.' And he did not intend that ‘Ukashah alone is more deserving of that than those besides him.
