Likewise, from the good thought and the strengthened hope for victory in the high ranks.

And the everlasting bliss is without obedience nor approaching to God the Exalted by compliance with his commands and avoiding his prohibitions.

And success is with God.

And the Exalted said: 'Indeed, those who believed and those who migrated and struggled in the path of God, those are the ones who hope for the mercy of God.'

And the secret of the matter is that hope and good thought is only with the coming with the causes that were necessitated by the wisdom of God in his legislation and his decree and his reward and his honor;

فَيَأْتِيso the servant comesالْعَبْدُthe servantبِرَبِّهِ،to his Lord,وَيَرْجُوهُand hopes from himأَنْthatلَاnotيَكِلَهُleave himإِلَيْهَا،to it,وَأَنْand thatيَجْعَلَهَاhe makes itظَنَّهُhis thoughtبِهَا،with it,ثُمَّthenيُحْسِنَhe improvesمَوْصِلَةًthe connectionإِلَىtoمَاwhatيَنْفَعُهُ،benefits him,وَيَصْرِفَand divertsمَاwhatيُعَارِضُهَا،opposes it,وَيُبْطِلَand nullifiesأَثَرَهَاits effect.

So the servant comes to his Lord, and hopes that He does not leave him to it, and that He makes his thought with it, then he improves the connection to what benefits him, and diverts what opposes it, and nullifies its effect.
