فَيَأْخُذُهَاThen he takes it.فَإِذَاWhen.أَخَذَهَاHe takes it.لَمْHe did not.يَدْعُوهَاCall it.فِيIn.يَدِهِHis hand.طَرْفَةَA blink.عَيْنٍOf an eye.حَتَّىUntil.يَأْخُذُوهَاThey take it.
Then he takes it. When he takes it, he does not hold it in his hand even for a blink of an eye until they take it.
فَيَجْعَلُونَهَاThen they make it.فِيIn.ذَٰلِكَThat.الْكَفَنِThe shroud.وَفِيAnd in.ذَٰلِكَThat.الْحَنُوطِThe perfume.وَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهَاAnd it emits from it.كَأَطْيَبِAs the best.نَفْحَةٍFragrance.مِسْكٍOf musk.وُجِدَتْFound.عَلَىOn.وَجْهِThe face.الْأَرْضِOf the earth.
Then they place it in that shroud and in that perfume, and it emits the best fragrance of musk found on the face of the earth.
فَيَصْعَدُونَThen they ascend.بِهَاWith it.فَلَاAnd they do not.يَمُرُّونَ بِهَاPass it.عَلَىOn.مَلَإٍA gathering.مِنَOf.الْمَلَائِكَةِThe angels.إِلَّاExcept.قَالُواThey say.مَا هَذَاWhat is this.الرُّوحُSpirit.الطَّيِّبُPure?
Then they ascend with it, and they do not pass it by any gathering of angels except that they say: 'What is this pure spirit?'
فَيَقُولُونَThen they say.فُلَانٌSo-and-so.ابْنُSon of.فُلَانٍSo-and-so.بِأَحْسَنِWith the best.أَسْمَائِهِمْHis names.الَّتِيWhich.كَانُواThey were.يُسَمُّونَهَاCalling him.بِهِBy.فِيIn.الدُّنْيَاThe world.حَتَّىUntil.يَنْتَهُواThey reach.بِهِHim.إِلَىTo.السَّمَاءِThe sky.الدُّنْيَاThe world.
They say: 'So-and-so, son of so-and-so,' using the best of the names they used to call him in the world, until they reach him to the first sky.
فَيَسْتَفْتِحُونَThen they seek permission.لَهُFor him.فَيُفْتَحُAnd it is opened.لَهُFor him.فِيُشَيِّعُهُAnd they accompany him.مِنْFrom.كُلِّEvery.سَمَاءِSky.مُقَرَّبُوهَاIts close inhabitants.إِلَىTo.السَّمَاءِThe sky.الَّتِيThat.تَلِيهَاFollows it.حَتَّىUntil.يَنْتَهِيEnds.بِهِHim.إِلَىTo.السَّمَاءِThe sky.السَّابِعَةِSeventh.
They seek permission for him, and it is opened for him. They accompany him from every sky to the sky that follows it until they reach him to the seventh sky.
فَيَقُولُThen Allah says.اللَّهُAllah.عَزَّ وَجَلَّThe Exalted.اَكْتُبُواWrite.كِتَابَThe record.عَبْدِيOf my servant.فِيIn.عِلِّيِّينَAl-‘Illiyyin.وَأَعِيدُوهُAnd return him.إِلَىTo.الْأَرْضِThe earth.فَإِنِّيFor I.مِنْهَاFrom it.خَلَقْتُهُمْCreated them.وَفِيهاAnd in it.أُعِيدُهُمْI return them.وَمِنْهَاAnd from it.أُخْرِجُهُمْI bring them out.تَارَةًAnother time.أُخْرَىAgain.
Then Allah, Exalted be He, says: 'Write the record of my servant in Al-‘Illiyyin, and return him to the earth, for I created them from it, and I return them to it, and I bring them out from it again.'
قَالَHe said.فَتُعَادُThen his soul is returned.رُوحُهُHis spirit.فَيَأْتِيَهُThen two angels come to him.مَلَكَانِTwo angels.فَيَجْلِسَانِهAnd they make him sit.فَيَقُولَانِThen they say to him.لَهُTo him.مَنْWho is.رَبُّكَYour Lord?
He said: 'Then his spirit is returned, and two angels come to him and make him sit. They say to him: Who is your Lord?'
فَيَقُولُHe says.رَبِّيMy Lord.اللَّهُIs Allah.عَزَّ وَجَلَّThe Exalted.
He says: 'My Lord is Allah.'
فَيَقُولَانِThen they say.لَهُTo him.مَاWhat.دِينُكَIs your religion?
Then they say to him: 'What is your religion?'
فَيَقُولُHe says.دِينِيMy religion.الْإِسْلَامُIs Islam.
He says: 'My religion is Islam.'
فَيَقُولَانِThen they say.لَهُTo him.مَاWhat.هَذَاIs this.الرَّجُلُMan.الَّذِيWho.بُعِثَWas sent.فِيكُمْAmong you?
Then they say to him: 'Who is this man who was sent among you?'
فَيَقُولُHe says.هُوَHe is.رَسُولُThe Messenger.اللَّهِOf Allah.
He says: 'He is the Messenger of Allah.'
فَيَقُولَانِThen they say.لَهُTo him.وَمَاAnd what.عَلِّمَكَIs your knowledge?
Then they say to him: 'What is your knowledge?'
فَيَقُولُHe says.قَرَأْتُI read.كِتَابَThe Book.اللَّهِOf Allah.فَآمَنْتُAnd I believed.بِهِIn it.
He says: 'I read the Book of Allah, and I believed in it.'
