يُخَوِّفُوناThey frighten usحَتَّىuntilتَكَادُyou almostقُلُوبُنَاour heartsتَطِيرُfly؟?

They frighten us until our hearts almost fly.

فَقَالَHe said::وَاللَّهِBy Godلَأَنَّthatتُصَاحِبَyou accompanyأَقْوَامًاa peopleيُخَوِّفُونَكَwho frighten youحَتَّىuntilتُدْرِكَyou attainأَمَنَاsecurityخَيْرٌbetterلَكَfor youمِنْthanأَنْtoتُصَاحِبَaccompanyقَوْمًاa peopleيُؤْمِنُونَكwho reassure youحَتَّىuntilتَلْحَقَكَfear befalls youالمَخَاوِفُthe fears(۱)

He said: By God, that it is better for you to accompany people who frighten you until you attain security than to accompany a people who reassure you until fears befall you.

وَقَدْAnd indeedثَبَتَit has been establishedفِيinالصَّحِيحَيْنِthe two authentic books(٢)مِنْfromحَدِيثِthe hadithأُسَامَةَof UsamaبِنَbinزَيْدٍZaydقَالَhe said::سَمِعْتُI heardرَسُولَthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allah(peace be upon him)يَقُولُsaying::يُجَاءُA man will be broughtبِالرَّجُلِon the Day of Resurrectionيَوْمَa manالْقِيَامَةِwill be thrown,,فَيُلْقَىinto the fireفِيand will have thrownالنَّارِfire,,فَتَنْدَلِقُand his entrails will spillأَقْتَابٌfrom his bellyبَطْنِهِ(3),,فَيَدُورُhe will rollفِيin the fireالنَّارِthe fire,,كَمَاasيَدُورُhe spinsالْحِمَارُthe donkeyبِرَحَاهِon its millstone,,فُطَيفُand the people of the fire will surround himبِهِhim,,فَيَقُولُونَthey will say:: يَاOفُلَانَso-and-soمَاwhatأَصَابَكَhas befallen you?,,أَلَمْDid notتَكُنْyou used toتَأْمُرْنَاcommand usبِالْمَعْرُوفِwith good,,وَتَنْهَانَاand forbid us(٤)عَنْfromالْمُنْكَرِ؟evil?فَيَقُولُHe will say::كُنتُI used toآمُرُكُمcommand youبِالْمَعْرُوفِwith goodوَلَاand notآتِيَةdo itوَأَنْهَاكُمْand forbid youعَنْfromالْمُنْكَرِevilوَآتِيَتُand I did it.وَذَكَرَAnd it is mentionedالإِمَامُthe ImamأَحْمَدُAhmad(٥)مِنْfromحَدِيثِthe hadithأَبِيof AbuرَافِعَRafeeقَالَhe said::مَرَّHe passedرَسُولُthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allah(peace be upon him)

And indeed, it has been established in the two authentic books from the hadith of Usama bin Zayd, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection, he will be thrown into the fire, and his entrails will spill from his belly, he will roll in the fire as the donkey spins on its millstone, and the people of the fire will surround him, they will say: O so-and-so, what has befallen you? Did you not used to command us with good and forbid us from evil? He will say: I used to command you with good but I did not do it, and I forbade you from evil but I did it.

(۱)أَخْرَجَهُNarratedعَبْدُ اللَّهِAbdullahبِنَbinأَحْمَدَAhmadفِيinزَوَائِدِهِhis additionsعَلَىonالزُّهْدِasceticism(١٤٥٩)مِنْfromطَرِيقِthe pathالْعَلَاءِof AlaaبِنَbinزِيَادٍZiyadعَنْfromالْمُغِيرَةِAl-MughiraبِنَbinمُخَدَّشٍMukhadashعَنْfromالْحَسَنِAl-Hasanفَذَكَرَهُand he mentioned itوَفِيand inسَندِهِits chainضَعْفٌthere is weakness.وَأَخْرَجَهُAnd narratedأَبُوAbuنَعِيمٍNa'imفِيinالْحِلَىthe adornment(١٤۹/۲ - ١٥٠)مِنْfromطَرِيقِthe pathعَلْقَمَةَof AlqamaبِنَbinمَرْثَدٍMarthadعَنْfromالْمُغِيرَةِAl-MughiraبِنَbinمُخَدَّشٍMukhadashعَنْfromالْحَسَنِAl-Hasanفَذَكَرَهُand he mentioned itوَسِياقُهُand its chain is long.وَفِيAnd inسَندِهِits chainضَعْفٌthere is weakness.(٢)أَخْرَجَهُNarratedالْبُخَارِيُّAl-Bukhariفِيinكِتَابِthe Bookبَدْءِof Creation,,بَابِthe chapterصِفَةِthe descriptionالنَّارِof the Fireوَأَنَّهَاand that it isمَخْلُوقَةٌcreated(٣٢٦٧)وَمُسْلِمٌand Muslimفِيinكِتَابِthe Bookالزُّهْدِthe Asceticismوَالْرَّقَائِقِand the softening,,بَابِchapterعُقُوبَةِPunishmentمَنْof the one whoيَأْمُرُcommandsبِالْمَعْرُوفِwith goodوَلَاand notيَفْعَلُهُdoes it.......(۲۹۸۹)(٣)i.e.أَيthat isتَخْرُجُthat his entrails will come outأَمْعَاؤُهُfrom his guts.مِنَfromجَوْفِهِhis belly.النِّهَايَةُThe End(١٣٠/٢).س:Q:تَأْمُرُYou command.. وَتَنْهَىand forbid.ز:Z:تَأْمُرُنَاYou command us......وَتَنْهَىand forbid.(٤)...(٥)فِيinمُسْنَدِهِhis Musnad(۳۹٢/٦(392/6)(۲۷١٩٢).وَأَخْرَجَهُAnd narratedالنَّسَائِيُّAn-Nasa'i(٨٦٢، ٨٦٣)(862, 863)وَابْنُand IbnخُزَيْمَةَKhuzaymah(۲۷٣٧)(2737)وَطَبَرِيٌّand Al-Tabariفِيinالْكَبِيرِthe Great(۳۲٣/۱(323/1)(٩٦٢)(962)،وَغَيْرِهِم, and others.مِنfromطَرِيقِthe pathابْنِIbnجُرَيْجٍJuraijحَدَّثَنِيhe narrated to meمَنْبُوذٍManbuz--رَجُلٍa manمِنْfromآلِthe familyرَافِعٍof Rafi--عَنْfromالْفَضْلِthe virtueبِنَbinعُبَيْدٍUbaidاللَّهِAllahبِنَbinأَبِيof AbuرَافِعٍRafeeعَنْfromأَبِيAbuرَافِعٍRafee.فَذَكَرَهُHe mentioned it.قُلْتُI said::مَنْبُوذٍManbuzلَمْI did notأَقِفَfindعَلَىonتَوْثِيقِهِits authenticationوَلَمْand I did notيُرَوَnarrate

(1) Narrated by Abdullah bin Ahmad in his additions on asceticism (1459) from the path of Alaa bin Ziyad from Al-Mughira bin Mukhadash from Al-Hasan and he mentioned it; and in its chain there is weakness. Narrated by Abu Na’im in the adornment (149/2 - 150) from the path of Alqama bin Marthad from Al-Mughira bin Mukhadash from Al-Hasan and he mentioned it; and its chain is long, and in its chain there is weakness. (2) Narrated by Al-Bukhari in the Book of Creation, Chapter on the Description of Fire and that it is created (3267) and Muslim in the Book of Asceticism and Softening, Chapter on the Punishment of one who commands good and does not do it... (2989) (3) i.e. that his entrails will come out from his belly. The End (130/2). Q: “You command. And forbid.” Z: “You command us ... and forbid.” (4) ... (5) In his Musnad (392/6 (27192); also narrated by An-Nasa’i (862, 863) and Ibn Khuzaymah (2737) and Al-Tabari in the Great (323/1 (962) and others, from the path of Ibn Juraij he narrated to me Manbuz - a man from the family of Rafi - from the virtue of Ubaid bin Abu Rafi from Abu Rafi, he mentioned it. I said: Manbuz I did not find on his authentication and he narrated from him other than Ibn Juraij and Ibn Abu Rafi.
