Do they have? So if it was to benefit them, their saying: "We have improved our assumptions about You," it did not punish an oppressor nor a sinner. So let the servant do whatever he wishes and let him commit every sin that Allah has forbidden him from it, and let him have good assumptions about Allah; for truly, the fire does not touch him. So glory be to Allah, what delusion reaches the servant!
وَقَدْAnd indeedقَالَsaidإِبْرَاهِيمُAbrahamلِقَوْمِهِ :to his people:أَئِفْكًاAre you turning awayلِهَةًgodsدُونَbesidesاللَّهِAllahتُرِيدُونَyou want?فَمَاSo whatظَنُّكُمْis your assumptionبِرَبِّabout the Lordالْعَالَمِينَ؟of the worlds?
And indeed, Abraham said to his people: "Are you turning away from gods besides Allah? So what is your assumption about the Lord of the worlds?"

That is, so what is your assumption about Him that He will do to you when you encounter Him, and you have worshiped other than Him?
وَمَنAnd whoeverتَأَمَّلَcontemplatesهَذَاthisالْمَوْضِعَplaceحَقًّاtrulyالتَّأَمُّلَcontemplationعَلِمَhe knowsأَنَّthatحُسْنَthe goodالظَّنِّassumptionبِاللَّهِabout Allahهُوَisحَسَنُa goodالْعَمَلِdeedنَفْسَه.itself.
And whoever contemplates this place truly knows that the good assumption about Allah is the good deed itself.
فَإنَّFor trulyالْعَبْدَthe servantإنَّمَاonlyيَحْمِلُهُdrives himعَلَىtoحُسْنِthe goodالْعَمَلِdeedحَسَنِthe goodظَنِّهِassumptionبِرَبِّهِabout his LordأَنَّthatيُجَازِيهِHe rewards himعَلَىforأَعْمَالِهِhis deedsوَيُثِيبُهُand recompenses himعَلَيْهَا،for them,وَيَتَقَبَّلَهَاand accepts themمِنْهُ.from him.
For truly, the servant is only driven to the good deed by his good assumption about his Lord, that He rewards him for his deeds and recompenses him for them, and accepts them from him.
فَالَّذِي(۵)So what drives himحَمَلَهُhimعَلَىtoالْعَمَلِthe deedحَسَنٍthe goodالظَّنِّ،the assumption,وَكُلَّمَاand wheneverحَسُنَthe goodظَنُّهُassumptionحَسُنَthe goodعَمَلُهُ،his deed,وَإِلَّاand unlessفَحَسَنٌgoodالظَّنُّassumptionمَعَwithاَتِّبَاعِfollowingالْهَوَىdesiresعَجْزٌ،is incapacity,كَمَاasفِيinالتِّرْمِذِيِّAl-Tirmidhiوَالْمُسْنَدِand the Musnadمِنْfromحَدِيثِthe Hadithشَدَّادٍof Shaddadابْنِson ofأَوْسٍAwsعَنْaboutالنَّبِيِّthe Prophetأَنَّهُthat he saidقَالَsaidالْكَيِّسُthe wiseمَنْis the one whoدَانَholds himself accountableنَفْسَهُ،his soul,وَعَمِلَand worksلِمَاfor whatبَعْدَcomes afterالْمَوْتِdeathوَالْعَاجِزُand the incapableمَنْis the one whoأَتَّبَعَfollowsنَفْسَهُhis own selfهَوَاهَا،its desires,وَتَمَنَّىand hopes forعَلَىon
So what drives him to the good deed is the good assumption, and whenever his good assumption is strong, his deed is good; otherwise, a good assumption combined with following desires is incapacity, as is reported in Al-Tirmidhi and the Musnad from the Hadith of Shaddad son of Aws about the Prophet that he said: "The wise is the one who holds himself accountable, and works for what comes after death; and the incapable is the one who follows his own self and its desires, and hopes for.
