الْقُرْآنُThe Quranأَجْمَلُis more generalوَالسُّنَّةُand the Sunnahفَصَّلَتْ:detailed:
The Quran is more general and the Sunnah detailed:
وَقَدْAnd indeedجَاءَتْcameأَحْكَامُrulingsالصَّلَاةِof prayer
And the rulings of prayer came
وَمَسَائِلُهَاand its issuesفِيinالْقُرْآنِthe Quranالْعَظِيمِthe Magnificentمُجْمَلَةًbrief
and its issues in the Magnificent Quran as brief,
وَاسْتُعْمِلَand was usedلَفْظُthe term"الْإِقَامَةِ"،"Al-Iqamah"لِلصَّلَاةِ،for prayer
and the term "Al-Iqamah" was used for prayer,
الَّذِيwhichتَنَاوَلَهُdealt with itالنَّبِيُّthe Prophet- صَلَّى- may Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِand grantوَسَلَّمَ -him peace -بِالتَّفْصِيلِin detail
which the Prophet - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - dealt with in detail
بِالْأَمْرِby commandingبِبِنَاءِto buildالْمَسَاجِدِmosquesوَالْجَمَاعَةِand the congregationوَبَيَانِand clarifyingالْمَوَاقِيتِ،the times,
by commanding the building of mosques and congregation and clarifying the times,
كَذَلِكَLikewiseوَرَدَتْcameأَحْكَامُrulingsالزَّكَاةِof Zakatبِاخْتِصَارٍwith brevityوَإِيجَازٍ،and conciseness,
likewise the rulings of Zakat came with brevity and conciseness,
وَفَصَّلَهَاand detailed itالنَّبِيُّthe Prophet- صَلَّى- may Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِand grantوَسَلَّمَ -him peace -أَيُّمَاeveryتَفْصِيلٍ،detail,
and the Prophet - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - detailed it thoroughly,
وَجَاءَand cameذِكْرُmentionالصَّوْمِof fastingأَيْضاًalsoفِيinسُورَةِSurahالْبَقَرَةِ،Al-Baqarah,
and the mention of fasting also came in Surah Al-Baqarah,
وَالْحَجُّand Hajjوَالْجِهَادُand Jihadوَالْقِتَالُand fightingفِيinسُورَتَيْtwo SurahsالْبَقَرَةِAl-Baqarahوَالْأَنْفَالِand Al-Anfalوَمَوَاضِعَand placesمُتَفَرِّقَةٍscatteredأُخْرَى،other,
and Hajj, Jihad, and fighting in the two Surahs Al-Baqarah and Al-Anfal and other scattered places,
وَذُكِرَand was mentionedالْحُدُودُthe legal punishmentsفِيinسُورَةِSurahالْمَائِدَةِAl-Ma'idahوَالنُّورِand An-Nur
and the legal punishments were mentioned in Surah Al-Ma'idah and An-Nur,
وَجَاءَتِand cameالْمَوَارِيثُthe inheritance lawsفِيinسُورَةِSurahالنِّسَاءِ،An-Nisa,
and the inheritance laws came in Surah An-Nisa,
وَأَحْكَامُand rulingsالنِّكَاحِof marriageوَالطَّلَاقِand divorceفِيinسُورَةِSurahالْبَقَرَةِAl-Baqarahوَالنِّسَاءِand An-Nisaوَالطَّلَاقِ،and At-Talaq,وَغَيْرِهَاand otherمِنَthanالسُّورِ.the Surahs.
and the rulings of marriage and divorce in Surah Al-Baqarah, An-Nisa, and At-Talaq, and other Surahs.
قِسْمٌSectionآخَرُanotherمِنَofالْأَحْكَامِthe rulingsفِيinالْقُرْآنِ:the Quran:
Another section of the rulings in the Quran:
وَبَعْدَAnd afterأَنْthatمَضَىpassedهَذَاthisالْقِسْمُsectionمِنَofالْأَحْكَامِrulings
And after this section of rulings passed,
الَّذِيwhichتَعُمُّbenefitsفَائِدَتُهُits benefitجَمِيعَallأَفْرَادِmembersالْأُمَّةِ،of the Ummah,
whose benefit encompasses all members of the Ummah,
تَذْكُرُmention is made ofقِسْماًanother sectionآخَرَother(يَتَعَلَّقُ(pertainingبِالْحَوَادِثِto eventsوَالْوَقَائِعِand incidentsالْخَاصَّةِspecific
mention is made of another section (pertaining to specific events and incidents
وَإِنْeven thoughكَانَwasحُكْمُهَاits rulingعَامّاً)general)وَكَانَتْand wereصُوَرُformsتَشْرِيعِهِof its legislationكَمَاasتَلِي:follows:
even though its ruling is general) and the forms of its legislation were as follows:
* Sometimes they would ask in the presence of the Prophet - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - about something and the Prophet - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - would respond (so that would be a way for legislation).
