وَقَصَصِand the stories ofسَيِّدِنَاour masterدَاوُودَDavid
And the stories of our master David
وَسُلَيْمَانَand Solomon- عَلَيْهِمَا- upon both of themالسَّلَامُ -be peace -
and Solomon - peace be upon them both -
وَخِلَافَتِهِمَاand their successionوَمُعْجِزَاتِهِمَاand their miraclesوَخَوَارِقِهِمَا،and their supernatural feats,
and their succession, their miracles, and their supernatural feats,
وَقِصَّةِand the story ofمِحْنَةِthe trial ofسَيِّدِنَاour masterأَيُّوبَJob
and the story of the trial of our master Job
وَسَيِّدِنَاand our masterيُونُسَJonah- عَلَيْهِمَا- upon both of themالسَّلَامُ -be peace -
and our master Jonah - peace be upon them both -
وَظُهُورِand the appearance ofرَحْمَةِthe mercy ofاللَّهِGod- تَعَالَى- Most Highوَعَطْفِهِand His affectionعَلَيْهَا،towards them,
and the appearance of the mercy of God - the Most High - and His affection towards them,
وَقِصَّةِand the story ofدُعَاءِthe supplication ofسَيِّدِنَاour masterزَكَرِيَّاZechariah- عَلَيْهِ- upon himالسَّلَامُ -be peace -
and the story of the supplication of our master Zechariah - peace be upon him -
وَاسْتِجَابَةِand the response ofاللَّهِGod- تَعَالَى -- Most High -إِيَّاهُ،to him,
and the response of God - the Most High - to him,
وَالْقَصَصِand the storiesالْعَجِيبَةِwondrousلِسَيِّدِنَاof our masterعِيسَىJesus- عَلَيْهِ- upon himالسَّلَامُ -be peace -
and the wondrous stories of our master Jesus - peace be upon him -
وَوِلَادَتِهِand his birthمِنْfromغَيْرِwithoutوَالِدٍ،a father,
and his birth without a father,
وَتَكَلُّمِهِand his speakingفِيinالْمَهْدِ،the cradle,
and his speaking in the cradle,
وَظُهُورِand the appearance ofالْخَوَارِقِthe supernatural featsوَالْمُعْجِزَاتِand the miraclesعَلَىatيَدِهِ،his hand,
and the appearance of supernatural feats and miracles at his hand,
وَأَمْثَالِand the likes ofهَذِهِtheseمِنَofالْقَصَصِthe stories
and the likes of these stories
الَّتِيwhichاطَّرَدَتْrecurredفِيinالْقُرْآنِthe Quranالْحَكِيمِthe Wise
which recurred in the Wise Quran
بِأَلْوَانٍin colorsمُخْتَلِفَةٍvariousمِنَofالْإِيجَازِconcisenessوَالْإِطْنَابِand elaboration
in various forms of conciseness and elaboration
وَالتَّفْصِيلِand detailوَالْإِجْمَالِand summaryحَسَبَaccording toمُقْتَضَىthe requirement ofالْأَسَالِيبِthe stylesالْمَرْعِيَّةِobservedفِيinالسُّورِ.the Surahs.
and detail and summary according to the requirement of the styles observed in the Surahs.
الْقَصَصُThe storiesالَّتِيthatلَمْdid notتَتَكَرَّرْrepeatفِيinالْقُرْآنِthe Quranكَثِيراً:much:

like the first stories, but were mentioned in one or two places only, they are:
The story of raising our master Enoch - peace be upon him - to a high station.
- And the story of Abraham's argument with Nimrod,
and his witnessing the revival of birds,
and the story of the sacrifice of his only son.
- The story of our master Joseph - peace be upon him.
- And the story of the birth of our master Moses - peace be upon him -
and his being cast into the river,
and his striking the Copt and killing him,
then his heading to "Midian"
