فَإِنَّهُfor indeed heكَانَwasشَيْخاًan old manضَعِيفَweakالْخَرْجِin outputوَأَنْتَwhile youرَجُلٌare a manمُخْرِجٌof strong output
So fear Allah and do not wrong us as your father wronged us, for he was an old man with weak output, while you are a man of strong output.
فَقَالَSo saidعُمَرُUmarإِنْIfكَانَwasأَبِيmy fatherكَمَاasذَكَرْتَyou mentioned
Umar said: If my father was as you mentioned, then he is my father, not yours. Dispute with me a fair dispute and do not insult my honor.
فَهُوَthen he isأَبِيmy fatherلَاnotأَبُوكَyour fatherنَازِعْنِيdispute with meمُنَازَعَةًa disputeجَمِيلَةًfairوَلَاand do notتَشْتُمْinsultعَرْضِيmy honor
Umar said: If my father was as you mentioned, then he is my father, not yours. Dispute with me a fair dispute and do not insult my honor.
فَإِنَّfor indeedلِيthere areفِيهَاin itشُرَكَاءَpartnersإِخْوَةًbrothersوَأَخَوَاتٍand sistersلَاwho do notيَرْضَوْنَconsentأَنْthatأَقْضِيَI judgeفِيهَاin itبِغَيْرِwithoutقَضَاءِthe judgmentقَاضٍof a judge
For I have partners in it—brothers and sisters—who do not consent that I judge in it without the judgment of a judge. I will stand with you before the judge.

قَالَHe saidوَبَيْنَاand whileعُمَرُUmarرَحِمَهُmay Allah have mercyاللَّهُon himيَسِيرُwas ridingعَلَىonبَغْلَتِهِhis mule
