إِبْدَالُSubstitutionحَرْفٍof a letterبِحَرْفٍ:with a letter:

Substitution of a letter with another:

٣3- وَتَارَةً- And sometimesيُبَدِّلُونَthey substituteحَرْفًاa letterمَكَانَin place ofحَرْفٍ،a letter,وَمِنْand fromأَمْثِلَتِهِ:its examples:

- And sometimes they substitute a letter in place of another, and from its examples:

قَوْلُهُHis statement- تَعَالَى -:- the Most High -:

His statement - the Most High -:

  • - {فَلَمَّا- {And whenتَجَلَّىrevealed His gloryرَبُّهُHis Lordلِلْجَبَلِ}to the mountain}، كَمَا, just asتَجَلَىHe revealed His gloryفِيinالْمَرَّةِthe first timeالْأُولَىfirstعَلَىuponالشَّجَرَةِ.the tree.

    • - {And when his Lord revealed His glory to the mountain}, just as He revealed His glory the first time upon the tree.

  • - {هُمْ- {Theyلَهَاfor itسَابِقُونَ}are forerunners}أَيْ:meaning:إِلَيْهَاto itسَابِقُونَ.forerunners.

    • - {They are forerunners for it} meaning: forerunners to it.

  • - {لَا- {Does notيَخَافُfearلَدَيَّin My presenceالْمُرْسَلُونَthe messengers(١٠)(10)إِلَّاexceptمَنْwhoظَلَمَ}did wrong}أَيْ:meaning:لَكِنْbutمَنْwhoظَلَمَ،did wrong,فَهُوَso itاسْتِئْنَافٌ.is a resumption.

    • - {The messengers do not fear in My presence (10) except who did wrong} meaning: but who did wrong, so it is a resumption.

  • - {لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ- {I will surely crucify youفِيinجُذُوعِtrunksالنَّخْلِ}of the palm trees}أَيْ:meaning:عَلَىuponجُذُوعِtrunksالنَّخْلِ.of the palm trees.

    • - {I will surely crucify you in trunks of the palm trees} meaning: upon trunks of the palm trees.

  • - {أَمْ- {Orلَهُمْdo they haveسُلَّمٌa stairwayيَسْتَمِعُونَthey listenفِيهِ}in it}أَيْ:meaning:يَسْتَمِعُونَthey listenعَلَيْهِ.upon it.

    • - {Or do they have a stairway they listen in it} meaning: they listen upon it.

  • - {السَّمَاءُ- {The heavenمُنْفَطِرٌis splittingبِهِ}thereby}أَيْmeaningمُنْفَطِرٌsplittingفِيهِ.therein.

    • - {The heaven is splitting thereby} meaning splitting therein.

  • - {مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ- {Being arrogantبِهِ}thereby}أَيْ:meaning:عَنْهُ.concerning it.

    • - {Being arrogant thereby} meaning: concerning it.

  • - {أَخَذَتْهُ- {Seized himالْعِزَّةُprideبِالْإِثْمِ}through sin}أَيْ:meaning:حَمَلَتْهُdrove himالْعِزَّةُprideعَلَىtoالْإِثْمِ.sin.

    • - {Pride seized him through sin} meaning: pride drove him to sin.

  • - {فَاسْأَلْ- {So askبِهِabout himخَبِيرًا}one well-informed}أَيْmeaningفَاسْأَلْso askعَنْهُ.about him.

    • - {So ask about him one well-informed} meaning so ask about him.
