قُلْتُ:I said:

كَمَاAsقَالَ:he said:مَسْنُوخَةٌ.abrogated.

As he said: abrogated.

١٥15- وَمِنَ- And fromالْبَرَاءَةِ:Al-Bara'ah:

15 - And from Al-Bara'ah:

آيَةُthe verse ofالْأَمْرِthe commandبِالنَّفْرِto mobilizeخِفَافًاlightlyوَثِقَالًا:and heavily:

the verse of the command to mobilize lightly and heavily:

قَوْلُهُHis statement- تَعَالَى -:- the Most High -:{انْفِرُوا{Mobilizeخِفَافًاlightlyوَثِقَالًا}and heavily}

His statement - the Most High -: {Mobilize lightly and heavily}

الْآيَةُ.The verse.

The verse.

مَسْنُوخَةٌAbrogatedبِآيَاتِby the verses ofالْعُذْرِ,excuse,

Abrogated by the verses of excuse,

وَهُوَand it isقَوْلُهُHis statement- تَعَالَى -:- the Most High -:

and it is His statement - the Most High -:

{لَيْسَ{There isعَلَىuponالْأَعْمَىthe blindحَرَجٌ}no restriction}

{There is upon the blind no restriction}

الْآيَةُ.The verse.

وَقَوْلُهُAnd His statement- تَعَالَى -:- the Most High -:

And His statement - the Most High -:

{لَيْسَ{There isعَلَىuponالضُّعَفَاءِ}the weak}

{There is upon the weak}

الْآيَتَيْنِ.the two verses.

قُلْتُ:I said:خِفَافًاlightlyأَيْmeaningمَعَwithأَقَلِّthe leastمَاof whatيَتَأَتَّىis sufficient forبِهِit ofالْجِهَادِjihadمِنْfromمَرْكُوبٍa mountوَعَبْدٍand a slaveلِلْخِدْمَةِ,for service,وَنَفَقَةٍand provisionيَقْنَعُhe is contentبِهَا.with it.

I said: lightly, meaning with the least of what is sufficient for jihad of a mount, a slave for service, and provision he is content with.

وَثِقَالًا:And heavily:مَعَwithالْخِدْمَةِserviceالْكَثِيرِ,much,وَالْمَرْكَبِand the mountالْكَثِيرِmuch,فَلَاso there is noنَسْخٌ،abrogation,أَوْorنَقُولُ:we say:لَيْسَis notالنَّسْخُabrogationمُتَعَيِّنًا.certain.

And heavily: with much service and much mount, so there is no abrogation, or we say: abrogation is not certain.

١٦16- وَمِنْ- And fromسُورَةِsurahالنُّورِ:Al-Nur:

16 - And from Surah Al-Nur:

آيَةُthe verse ofاسْتِقْبَاحِdisapprovingنِكَاحِmarriage toالزَّانِيَةِ:the adulteress:

the verse disapproving marriage to the adulteress:

قَوْلُهُHis statement- تَعَالَى -:- the Most High -:{الزَّانِي{The adultererلَاdoes notيَنْكِحُmarryإِلَّاexceptزَانِيَةً}an adulteress}

His statement - the Most High -: {The adulterer does not marry except an adulteress}

الْآيَةُ،The verse,مَسْنُوخَةٌabrogatedبِقَوْلِهِby His statement- تَعَالَى -:- the Most High -:{وَأَنْكِحُوا{And marryالْأَيَامَىthe unmarriedمِنْكُمْ}among you}

The verse, abrogated by His statement - the Most High -: {And marry the unmarried among you}

قُلْتُ:I said:قَالَsaidأَحْمَدُAhmadبِظَاهِرِby the apparent meaning ofالْآيَةِ،the verse,وَمَعْنَاهَاand its meaningعِنْدَaccording toغَيْرِهِ:others:

I said: Ahmad [upheld] the apparent meaning of the verse, and its meaning according to others is:

أَنَّthatالْمُرْتَكِبَthe perpetratorلَيْسَis notبِكُفْءٍa matchإِلَّاexceptلِلزَّانِيَةِ،for the adulteress,أَوْorلَاit is notيُسْتَحَبُّrecommendedاخْتِيَارُto chooseالزَّانِيَةِ،the adulteress,

that the perpetrator is not a match except for the adulteress, or choosing the adulteress is not recommended,

وَقَوْلُهُand His statement- تَعَالَى -- the Most High -{وَحُرِّمَ{And has been forbiddenذَلِكَ}that}

and His statement - the Most High - {And has been forbidden that}

إِشَارَةٌis an indicationإِلَىtoالزِّنَاadulteryوَالشِّرْكِ،and polytheism,فَلَاso there is noنَسْخٌabrogationوَأَمَّاand as forقَوْلُهُHis statement- تَعَالَى -- the Most High -{وَأَنْكِحُوا{And marryالْأَيَامَى}the unmarried}

is an indication to adultery and polytheism, so there is no abrogation. And as for His statement - the Most High - {And marry the unmarried}

فَعَامٌit is generalلَاand does notيَنْسَخُabrogateالْخَاصَّ.the specific.

it is general and does not abrogate the specific.
