Meanings of the Book of Allah

- Exalted is He -, and that if they spent

their lives studying books of exegesis,

or reading them to the exegetes,

they would not attain these rules and principles

with this precision and harmony.

And I named it "Al-Fawz Al-Kabeer fi Usool Al-Tafseer"

And my success is not but through Allah,

upon Him I have relied, and He is my sufficiency and an excellent Disposer of affairs.

And I have gathered the objectives of this treatise into five chapters,

and they are as follows:

1 - The First Chapter: Concerning the five sciences

to which the Noble Quran points explicitly,

to the extent that it is as if the Quran was originally revealed for these five sciences.

2 - The Second Chapter: Concerning the aspects of obscurity in the Quran's arrangement

relative to the understandings of the people of this era,

and clarifying them with the clearest explanation.

3 - The Third Chapter: In explaining the subtleties of the Quran's arrangement,

and the wonderful Quranic style.

4 - The Fourth Chapter: Concerning the methodologies of exegesis,

and explaining the causes of difference and its aspects in the exegesis of the Companions and the Followers.

5 - The Fifth Chapter: In explaining the rare and unfamiliar words of the Quran,

and the causes of revelation which the exegete must necessarily memorize,

and without them, delving into exegesis is prohibited.
