Refinement of the five Quranic sciences:

And among them is the refinement of the five sciences

which are the explicit text of the Great Quran

and its mention has come in detail

at the beginning of this book

so let him refer to it.

[Translation of the Quran in Persian:]

And among them is the translation of the Noble Quran

in the Persian language in a manner close to the Arabic text

in the amount of words and expressions,

and specification and generalization and other than that,

and I named this translation "Fath ar-Rahman fi Tarjamat al-Quran"

even though I did not adhere to this condition

in some places out of fear of the reader not understanding

without detail and clarification.

[Properties of the Quran:]

And among them is the science of the properties of the Noble Quran,

and a group of the predecessors has spoken

about the properties of the Quran from two aspects:

one of them is what resembles supplication,

and the second is what resembles magic,

I seek refuge in Allah from it,

but Allah - exalted is He - opened for the needy one

a door beyond what was transmitted of the properties of the Quran

and cast into my lap the Most Beautiful Names, the greatest verses, and the blessed supplications

all at once,

and said indeed they are our gift for utilization,

except that every verse, name, and supplication is conditioned upon conditions that no rule regulates from
