عَلَى
onهَذِهِ

truth:on this great truth:
{وَمَاAnd what
أَرْسَلْنَاWe sent
مِنْof
قَبْلِكَbefore you
مِنْany
رَسُولٍmessenger
إِلَّاexcept
نُوحِيWe reveal
إِلَيْهِto him
أَنَّهُthat
لَاno
إِلَهَgod
إِلَّاexcept
أَنَاMe
فَاعْبُدُونِ}so worship Me}
{And We did not send any messenger before you except that We revealed to him that there is no god except Me, so worship Me}

-رَابِعاً:
Fourth:بَيَانُ
explanationشَنَاعَةِ
of the uglinessعِبَادَةِ
of the worshipالْأَصْنَامِ،
of idols,Fourth: Explanation of the ugliness of idol worship
وَأَنَّ
and thatالْأَحْجَارَ
stonesسَاقِطَةٌ
fall shortعَنْ
ofمَرْتَبَةِ
the rankالْكَمَالِ
of humanالْإِنْسَانِيِّ
perfectionand that stones fall short of the rank of human perfection
فَكَيفَ
so howتَظَلُّ
can they remainبِمَرْتَبَةِ
at the rankالْأُلُوهِيَّةِ،
of divinity,so how can they remain at the rank of divinity,
يَسْجُدُ
prostrated toلَهَا
for themوَيُتَوَجَّهُ
and turned towardsإِلَيْهَا!
them!prostrated to and turned towards!
وَمِثْلُ
And likeهَذَا
thisالرَّدِّ
refutationوَالتَّفْنِيدِ
and debunkingلِأُولَئِكَ
for thoseالْمُشْرِكِينَ
polytheistsالَّذِينَ
whoكَانُوا
used toيَعْتَقِدُونَ
believeهَذِهِ
theseالْأَصْنَامَ
idolsآلِهَةً
godsمَعْبُودَةً
worshipedلِذَاتِهَا.
for themselves.And like this refutation and debunking for those polytheists who used to believe these idols were gods worshiped for themselves.

-أَوَّلاً:
First:بِمُطَالَبَتِهِمْ
by demanding from themبِالدَّلِيلِ
the proofعَلَى
forدَعْوَاهُمْ،
their claim,وَنَقْضِ
and invalidatingتَمَسُّكِهِمْ
their adherenceبِتَقْلِيدِ
to the imitation ofآبَائِهِمْ.
their fathers.First: By demanding proof for their claim from them, and invalidating their adherence to the imitation of their fathers.

-ثَانِياً:
Second:بِبَيَانِ
by explainingضَرُورَةِ
the necessityالتَّجَانُسِ
of homogeneityبَيْنَ
betweenالْوَالِدِ
the parentوَالْوَلَدِ،
and the child,Second: By explaining the necessity of homogeneity between the parent and the child,

ofالْأَبْنِيَةِ)

and the phenomenonأَنَّهُ

-- as their stances indicate that - to God - the Exalted -

تَعَالَىthe Exalted
{أَلِرَبِّكَ{Is for your Lord
الْبَنَاتُthe daughters
وَلَهُمُand for them
الْبَنُونَ}the sons}
He said the Exalted {Is for your Lord the daughters and for them the sons}
