الْقَصَصُStoriesوَالْحَوَادِثُand eventsمَوْجُودٌare presentفِيinالسُّنَّةِthe noble Sunnahالْمُشَرَّفَةِ- upon
Stories and events are present in the noble Sunnah
عَلَىuponصَاحِبِهَاits ownerالصَّلَاةُbe blessingsوَالسَّلَامُand peace
upon its owner be blessings and peace
فَلَاthereforeيَنْبَغِيit is not fittingعِنْدَئِذٍat that timeمُعَالَجَةُto treatالنَّقْلِthe transmissionوَالرِّوَايَةِand narrationعَنْfromأَهْلِthe Peopleالْكِتَابِof the Book
so it is not fitting at that time to treat transmission and narration from the People of the Book
كَمِثْلِlikeمَاwhatثَبَتَis establishedفِيinالسُّنَّةِthe authentic SunnahالصَّحِيحَةِauthenticعَنْregardingقَوْلِهِHis sayingتَعَالَىthe Most High
like what is established in the authentic Sunnah regarding His saying, the Most High
وَلَقَدْAnd indeedفَتَنَّاWe testedسُلَيْمَانَSolomonوَأَلْقَيْنَاand We castعَلَىuponكُرْسِيِّهِhis throneجَسَدًاa bodyثُمَّthenأَنَابَhe turned back in repentance
And We certainly tested Solomon and placed on his throne a body; then he returned [to God]
أَنَّthatذَلِكَthatمَحْمُولٌis understoodعَلَىasتَرْكِleavingسُلَيْمَانَSolomon- عَلَيْهِ- upon himالسَّلَامُ -peace -لِقَوْلِsaying"إِنْ"IfشَاءَGodاللَّهُ"wills"
that this is understood as Solomon - peace be upon him - omitting to say "If God wills"
وَأَنَّand thatالْمُؤَاخَذَةَthe accountabilityكَانَتْwasعَلَىforذَلِكَthat
and that the accountability was for that reason
فَكَيْفَso howيَصِحُّis it correctأَنْthatنَذْكُرَwe mentionقِصَّةَthe storyصَخْرٍof Sakhrالْمَارِدِthe rebellious devilمِنَfromالرِّوَايَاتِthe Israeliteالْإِسْرَائِيلِيَّةِnarratives
so how is it correct that we mention the story of Sakhr the rebellious devil from the Israelite narratives?
٢2- وَالْأَمْرُ- And the secondالثَّانِيmatterهُوَisأَنَّthat"الضَّرُورِيَّ"that which is necessaryيَتَقَدَّرُis measuredبِقَدْرِby the measureالضَّرُورَةِ"of necessity"
2 - And the second matter is that "necessity is estimated according to its measure"
فَلَابُدَّso it is necessaryمِنْtoمُلَاحَظَتِهِobserve it
so it is necessary to observe it
وَإِلْقَاءِand to castالْقَوْلِspeechحَسَبَaccording toمُقْتَضَىthe requirementالتَّعْرِيضِof allusionوَضَرُورَتِهِand its necessity
and to present speech according to the requirement of allusion and its necessity
حَتَّىso thatيُمْكِنَit is possibleتَصْدِيقُهُto verify itبِشَهَادَةِby the testimonyالْقُرْآنِof the QuranالْكَرِيمِNobleلَهُfor it
so that its verification is possible by the testimony of the Noble Quran for it
وَالْكَفُّand to refrainعَنِfromالزِّيَادَةِaddingعَلَيْهِto it
and to refrain from adding to it
[تَفْسِيرُ[Exegesis ofالْقُرْآنِthe Quranبِالْقُرْآنِ:]by the Quran:]
[Interpreting the Quran with the Quran:]
وَهُنَاكَAnd hereنُكْتَةٌis a subtleدَقِيقَةٌpointلَابُدَّthat mustمِنْbeمَعْرِفَتِهَاknown
And here is a subtle point that must be known
وَهِيَwhich isأَنَّthatالْقُرْآنَthe QuranالْكَرِيمَNobleأَحْيَانًاsometimesيَذْكُرُmentionsالْقِصَّةَthe storyفِيinمَوْضِعٍone placeبِالْإِجْمَالِbriefly
which is that the Noble Quran sometimes mentions the story briefly in one place
وَفِيand inمَوْضِعٍanother placeآخَرَanotherبِالتَّفْصِيلِin detailكَقَوْلِهِlike His saying- تَعَالَى -:- Most High -:
and in another place in detail, like His saying - the Most High -:
قَالَHe saidإِنِّي"Indeed, Iأَعْلَمُknowمَاwhatلَاyou doتَعْلَمُونَnot know."
"Indeed, I know that which you do not know."
ثُمَّThenقَالَ:He said:أَلَمْ"Did I notأَقُلْsayلَكُمْto youإِنِّيthat Iأَعْلَمُknowغَيْبَthe unseenالسَّمَاوَاتِof the heavensوَالْأَرْضِand the earth
Then He said: "Did I not say to you that I know the unseen of the heavens and the earth
وَأَعْلَمُand I knowمَاwhatتُبْدُونَyou revealوَمَاand whatكُنْتُمْyou wereتَكْتُمُونَconcealing?"
and I know what you reveal and what you used to conceal?"
فَهَذَاSo thisالْقَوْلُsecond statementالثَّانِيsecondهُوَisالْقَوْلُthe statementالْأَوَّلُfirstنَفْسُهُitselfبِنَوْعٍwith a kindمِنَofالتَّفْصِيلِdetail
So this second statement is the first statement itself with a type of detail
فَيَتَيَسَّرُthus it becomes easyبِذَلِكَtherebyتَفْسِيرُto interpretهَذَاthisالْإِجْمَالِ،brief partوَالتَّقَدُّمُand to proceedمِنْfrom
thus it becomes easy thereby to interpret this brief mention, and to proceed from
