the sciences,the arts or a science from the sciences,
وَتَكَلَّمَ
and he spokeعَلَى
according toقَدْرِ
the measure ofقُوَّتِهِ
his powerالْبَيَانِيَّةِ
explanatoryوَفَصَاحَتِهِ
and his eloquenceاللُّغَوِيَّةِ،
linguistic,and he spoke according to the measure of his explanatory power and linguistic eloquence,
وَرَاعَى
and he observedمَذْهَبَ
the schoolأَصْحَابِهِ
of his companionsوَاتَّخَذَهُ
and he took itنُصْبَ
beforeعَيْنِهِ.
his eye.and he observed the school of his companions and took it before his eye.
وَمِنْ
and fromهُنَا
hereاتَّسَعَ
expandedمَجَالُ
the field ofالتَّفْسِيرِ
exegesisاتِّسَاعاً
an expansionلَا
notيُحَدُّ
is boundedقَدْرُهُ
its measureبِحَدٍّ
by a boundصَحِيحٍ.
correct.And from here the field of exegesis expanded an expansion whose measure is not bounded by a correct bound.
وَاشْتَمَلَ
and it includedعَلَى
ofكُتُبٍ
booksلَا
notيُحْصَرُ
is confinedعَدَدُهَا
their numberوَلَا
and notيُحْصَى.
is counted.And it included books whose number is neither confined nor counted.
وَقَدْ
and indeedتَوَجَّهَتْ
turnedطَائِفَةٌ
a partyمِنَ
fromالْمُفَسِّرِينَ
the exegetesإِلَى
towardهَذِهِ
theseالْمَقَاصِدِ
purposesكُلِّهَا
all of themفِي
inتَفَاسِيرِهِمْ
their exegesesAnd indeed a party of the exegetes turned toward all of these purposes in their exegeses.
فَمِنْهُمْ
so of themمَنْ
is he whoاخْتَارَ
choseاللُّغَةَ
the languageالْعَرَبِيَّةَ
ArabicSo of them is he who chose the Arabic language
وَمِنْهُمْ
and of themمَنْ
is he whoاخْتَارَ
choseاللُّغَةَ
the languageالْفَارِسِيَّةَ
Persianand of them is he who chose the Persian language,
وَنَحَا
and inclinedبَعْضُهُمْ
some of themنَحْوَ
towardالِاخْتِصَارِ،
conciseness,and some of them inclined toward conciseness,
وَأَحَبَّ
and lovedبَعْضُهُمُ
some of themالتَّطْوِيلَ
elaborationوَالْإِطْنَابَ،
and prolixity,and some of them loved elaboration and prolixity,
وَوَسَّعُوا
and they widenedأَذْيَالَ
the skirts ofالْعِلْمِ
scienceوَفَرَّعُوا
and they branchedحَوَاشِيَهُ.
its margins.and they widened the skirts of science and branched its margins.
وَقَدْ
and indeedأَعْطَى
gaveهَذَا
thisالْفَقِيرُ
poor oneحَظَّهُ
his shareمِنْ
fromهَذِهِ
theseالْعُلُومِ
sciencesوَالْفُنُونِ
and artsكُلِّهَا،
all of them,And indeed this poor one has been given his share of all these sciences and arts,
وَأَحَاطَ
and he encompassedبِمُعْظَمِ
most ofأُصُولِهَا
its foundationsوَجُمْلَةٍ
and a sumصَالِحَةٍ
soundمِنْ
fromفُرُوعِهَا،
its branches,and he encompassed most of its foundations and a sound sum of its branches,
وَحَازَ
and he acquiredعَلَى
uponنَوْعٍ
a sortمِنَ
ofالتَّحْقِيقِ
verificationوَالِاسْتِقْلَالِ
and independenceفِي
inكُلِّ
everyبَابٍ
chapterمِنْ
fromأَبْوَابِهَا
its chaptersand he acquired a sort of verification and independence in every chapter from its chapters
بِوَجْهٍ
in a wayيُشْبِهُ
resembling"الِاجْتِهَادَ
"ijtihadفِي
inالْمَذْهَبِ"
the school"(عَلَى
(uponاصْطِلَاحِ
the terminologyالْأُصُولِيِّينَ)
of the usulis)in a way resembling "ijtihad in the school" (upon the terminology of the usulis).
وَفَنَّانِ
and two artsآخَرَانِ
otherأَوْ
orثَلَاثَةٌ
threeمِنْ
fromفُنُونِ
arts ofالتَّفْسِيرِ
exegesisأُلْقِيَتْ
were castفِي
intoخَاطِرِي
my mindمِنْ
fromبَحْرِ
the ocean ofالْجُودِ
generosityالْإِلَهِيِّ،
divine,And two other arts or three from the arts of exegesis were cast into my mind from the ocean of divine generosity,
فَلَوْ
so ifسَأَلْتَنِي
you asked meفَأَنَا
then I amتِلْمِيذُ
a student ofالْقُرْآنِ
the Quranالْعَظِيمِ
the Mightyبِلَا
withoutوَاسِطَةٍ،
intermediary,so if you asked me, then I am a student of the Mighty Quran without an intermediary,
كَمَا
just asأَنِّي
I amأُوَيْسِيُّ
an Uwaisi ofالرُّوحِ
the spiritالنَّبَوِيَّةِ
prophetic-عَلَى
-uponصَاحِبِهَا
its ownerأَلْفُ
thousandسَلَامٍ
peaceوَتَحِيَّةٍ-
and greeting-just as I am an Uwaisi of the prophetic spirit - upon its owner be a thousand peaces and greetings -
وَمُسْتَفِيدٌ
and a beneficiaryبِلَا
withoutوَاسِطَةٍ
intermediaryمِنَ
fromالْكَعْبَةِ
the Kaabaالْحَسْنَاءِ
the beautifuland a beneficiary without an intermediary from the beautiful Kaaba
وَمُتَأَثِّرٌ
and affectedبِدُونِهَا
without itبِالصَّلَاةِ
by the prayerالْعُظْمَى.
the greatest.and affected without it by the greatest prayer.
