قِسْمَيْنِ:

two parts:

is usually divided into two parts:

  • ١
  • 1
  • - الْأَوَّلُ،
  • - The first,
  • هُوَ
  • is
  • مَا
  • what
  • لَا
  • not
  • يَكُونُ
  • is
  • الْقَصْدُ
  • the purpose
  • مِنْهُ
  • from it
  • إِلَّا
  • except
  • تَعْلِيمُ
  • teaching
  • مَا
  • what
  • لَا
  • not
  • يَعْلَمُ
  • knows
  • السَّامِعُ
  • the listener
  • وَتَلْقِينُهُ
  • and instructing him

1 - The first is that whose purpose is only to teach the listener what he does not know and instruct him,

  • فَيَكُونُ
  • so is
  • الْمُخَاطَبُ
  • the addressee
  • - مَثَلًا -
  • - for example -
  • لَا
  • not
  • يَدْرِي
  • knows
  • حُكْمًا
  • a ruling
  • مِنْ
  • of
  • الْأَحْكَامِ،
  • the rulings,

so the addressee - for example - does not know a ruling from the rulings,

  • وَلَمْ
  • and has not
  • يُدْرِكْهُ
  • grasped it
  • عَقْلُهُ
  • his mind
  • وَفِكْرُهُ،
  • and his thought,

and his mind and thought have not grasped it,

  • فَأَنْتَ
  • so you
  • تُفِيدُهُ
  • benefit him
  • ذَلِكَ
  • that
  • الْحُكْمَ،
  • ruling,

so you benefit him with that ruling,

  • فَيُصْبِحُ
  • so becomes
  • الْمَجْهُولُ
  • the unknown
  • عِنْدَهُ
  • with him
  • بِاسْتِمَاعِ
  • by listening
  • كَلَامِكَ
  • to your speech
  • مَعْلُومًا،
  • known,

so what was unknown to him by listening to your speech becomes known,

  • وَيَعْرِفُ
  • and he knows
  • مَا
  • what
  • تُرِيدُ
  • you want

and he knows what you want.

  • ٢
  • 2
  • - الثَّانِي:
  • - The second:
  • أَنْ
  • that
  • يَكُونَ
  • is
  • الْغَرَضُ
  • the purpose
  • هُوَ
  • is
  • اسْتِحْضَارُ
  • bringing to presence
  • صُورَةِ
  • the image
  • الْعِلْمِ
  • of knowledge
  • فِي
  • in
  • قُوَّتِهِ
  • its faculty
  • الْمُدْرِكَةِ
  • perceiving

2 - The second: that the purpose is bringing the image of knowledge to presence in its perceiving faculty

  • حَتَّى
  • so that
  • يَجِدَ
  • he finds
  • لَهَا
  • for it
  • لَذَّةً
  • a pleasure
  • مَوْفُورَةً،
  • abundant,

so that he finds for it an abundant pleasure,

  • وَتَفْنَى
  • and pass away
  • جَمِيعُ
  • all
  • قُوَاهُ
  • his faculties
  • الْقَلْبِيَّةِ
  • heart
  • وَالْعَقْلِيَّةِ
  • and mental
  • فِي
  • in
  • ذَلِكَ
  • that
  • الْمَعْلُومِ،
  • known object,

and all his heart and mental faculties become absorbed in that known object,

  • وَتَنْصَبِغُ
  • and becomes dyed
  • بِهِ
  • with it
  • جَمِيعُ
  • all
  • قُوَاهُ
  • his faculties
  • الْفِكْرِيَّةِ
  • intellectual
  • وَالْعَمَلِيَّةِ،
  • and practical,

and all his intellectual and practical faculties become dyed with it,

  • كَمَا
  • just as
  • نُكَرِّرُ
  • we repeat
  • بَيْتًا
  • a verse
  • مِنْ
  • of
  • الشِّعْرِ
  • poetry

just as we repeat a verse of poetry

  • عَلِمْنَا
  • we knew
  • مَعْنَاهُ
  • its meaning
  • وَمُحْتَوَاهُ
  • and its content
  • سَلَفًا،
  • previously,

whose meaning and content we knew previously,

  • وَلَكِنَّنَا
  • but we
  • رَغْمَ
  • despite
  • ذَلِكَ
  • that
  • نُكَرِّرُهُ
  • we repeat it

but despite that we repeat it

  • وَنَجِدُ
  • and we find
  • كُلَّ
  • every
  • مَرَّةٍ
  • time
  • فِي
  • in
  • إِنْشَادِهِ
  • reciting it
  • لَذَّةً
  • a pleasure
  • جَدِيدَةً،
  • new,

and we find every time in reciting it a new pleasure,

  • وَنُحِبُّ
  • and we love
  • تَرْدَادَهُ
  • its repetition
  • وَتَكْرَارَهُ
  • and its reiteration
  • لِأَجْلِ
  • for the sake of
  • هَذِهِ
  • this
  • اللَّذَّةِ
  • pleasure
  • الذَّوْقِيَّةِ.
  • experiential.

and we love repeating and reiterating it for the sake of this experiential pleasure.
