رَجُلًاa manبِعَيْنِهِspecifically،,كَانَhe wasبَنَىhe marriedعَلَىonأَهْلِهِhis familyفَلَمْand notيَتَعَطَّرْhe did not perfume himselfلَهُfor him،,فَسُمِّيَso was namedبَعْدَafterذَلِكَthatكُلُّeveryبَانٍone who marriesعَلَىonأَهْلِهِhis familyبِذَلِكَwith thatالِاسْمِname..
A specific man, who married his family but did not perfume himself for her, so after that every man who married his family was called by that name.
وَمِثْلُAnd likeهَذَاthisلَاnotيَثْبُتُis establishedإِلَّاexceptبِأَنْthatيَسْتَفِيضَit is widespreadفِيinالشِّعْرِpoetry،,وَيَظْهَرَand appearsفِيinالْخَبَرِreports..
And such a thing is not established except by being widespread in poetry and appearing in reports.
وَأَمَّاAnd as forالْخُرْسُal-khurs١1فَالطَّعَامُthe foodالَّذِيthatيُتَّخَذُis preparedصَبِيحَةَthe morningالْوِلَادَةِof birthلِلرِّجَالِfor menوَالنِّسَاءِand women..
And as for al-khurs (the food prepared on the morning of birth for men and women).
وَزَعَمُواAnd they claimedأَنَّthatأَصْلَthe originذَلِكَof thatمَأْخُوذٌis takenمِنَfromالْخُرْسَةِal-khursa،,وَالْخُرْسَةُand al-khursaطَعَامُfood ofالنُّفَسَاءِthe woman in childbirth..
And they claimed that the origin of that is taken from al-khursa, and al-khursa is the food of the woman in childbirth.
قَالَتْsaidجَارِيَةٌa young womanوَلَدَتْshe gave birthحِينَwhenلَمْnotيَكُنْthere wasلَهَاfor herمَنْwhoيَخْدُمُهَاserves herوَيُمَارِسُand doesلَهَاfor herمَاwhatيُمَارَسُis doneلِلنُّفَسَاءِfor the woman in childbirth::
A young woman who gave birth when she had no one to serve her and do for her what is done for the woman in childbirth said:
«"تَخَرَّسِيmake khurs for yourselfلَاnotمُخَرِّسَةَone who makes khursلَكِfor you»"..
Make khurs for yourself; there is no one to make khurs for you.
وَفِيAnd inالْخُرْسَةِal-khursaيَقُولُsaysمُسَاوِرُMusawirالْوَرَّاقُal-Warraq::
And concerning al-khursa, Musawir al-Warraq says:
إِذَاWhenأَسَدِيَّةٌan Asadi womanوَلَدَتْgave birthغُلَامًاa boy......فَبَشِّرْهَاthen give her good newsبِلُؤْمٍof basenessفِيinالْغُلَامِthe boy..
When an Asadi woman gives birth to a boy, then give her good news of baseness in the boy.
تُخَرِّسُهَاthey make khurs for herنِسَاءُwomenبَنِيof BanuدُبَيْرٍDubayr٢2بِأَخْبَثِwith the worstمَاwhatيَجِدْنَthey findمِنَofالطَّعَامِfood..
The women of Banu Dubayr make khurs for her with the worst food they can find.
قَوْلُSaying ofابْنِIbnالْقُمَيْئَةِal-Qumay'a::«"شَرُّكُمْthe worst of youحَاضِرٌpresentوَخَيْرُكُمْand the best of youدَdرُّrخَرُوسٌa kharusمِنَfromالْأَرَانِبِharesبِكْرٌa virgin»"٤4..
The saying of Ibn al-Qumay'a: 'The worst of you is present, and the best of you is a virgin kharus from the hares.'
فَالْخَرُوسُSo al-kharusهِيَshe isصَاحِبَةُthe owner ofالْخُرْسَةِal-khursa..
So al-kharus is the one who provides al-khursa.
وَالْأَعْذَارُAnd al-a'dharطَعَامُfood ofالْخِتَانِcircumcision،,يُقَالُit is said::«"صَبِيٌّa boyمَعْذُورٌcircumcisedوَصَبِيٌّand a boyمُعَذَّرٌcircumcisedجَمِيعًاboth»"..
And al-a'dhar is the food of circumcision. It is said: 'A boy is ma'dhur and a boy is mu'adhdhar both.'
وَقَالَAnd saidبَعْضُsomeأَصْحَابِcompanionsالنَّبِيِّof the ProphetصَلَّىmayاللهُGodعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَand peace،,وَهُوَwhile heيُرِيدُintendingتَقَارُبَهُمْtheir closenessفِيinالْأَسْنَانِages::«"كُنَّاwe wereإِعْذَارَcircumcisionعَامٍof a yearوَاحِدٍone»"..
And one of the companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, intending their closeness in age: 'We were the circumcision of one year.'
وَقَالَAnd saidالنَّابِغَةُal-Nabigha::فَنَكَحْنَso we marriedأَبْكَارًاvirginsوَهُنَّwhile theyبِإِمَّةٍin a state of being unmarried......أَعْجَلْنَهُنَّthey hastened themمَظِنَّةَthe place of expectationالْإِعْذَارِof circumcision٥5..
And al-Nabigha said: 'So we married virgins while they were in a state of being unmarried... they hastened them to the place of circumcision.'
فَزَعَمُواAnd they claimedأَنَّهُمْthat theyسَمَّوْاnamedطَعَامَfood ofالْإِعْذَارِcircumcisionبِالْإِعْذَارِas al-i'dharلِلْمُلَابَسَةِbecause of the associationوَالْمُجَاوَرَةِand proximity..
And they claimed that they named the food of circumcision as al-i'dhar because of the association and proximity.
